There were cockroaches in my room, which thoroughly grossed me out. While I was immediately moved to a new room seven floors away, the memory of those roaches was so disgusting I decided to leave a night early despite the fact that I had pre-paid for three nights. I should note that I did not see roaches in the new room, but any roach anywhere in a facility is one roach to many for me. The entire hotel seems like it's in need of a refresh. The paint is old and grimy, the beds are uncomfortable, and I would never stay here again, especially at $250 a night. The front desk attendant who switched my room the first night was very nice (he gave me two bottles of water and some free breakfast certificates to make up for the infestation), but the rest of the team seems pretty disillusioned with the place. That said, the front desk attendant who checked me out did remove the incidentals from my bill (a bag of chips and a glass of wine), though he was not apologetic. He seemed like he'd been through this drill before. Maybe that's why he told me to let Expedia know about my experience, so that's exactly what I'm doing.
Dear Sonesta Denver: You can do better. Start with a thorough fumigation. Then thoroughly clean and renovate the place. It needs it.
