RINO is still evolving as a neighborhood, and the Catbird Hotel can suffer unfairly because of it. For instance, there is no grocery store within walking distance (the "natural grocery" on the other side of the train tracks doesn't count, as one can't buy normal food items there). As more quality of life businesses emerge -- a coffee shop would be great, as well as the aforementioned grocery and/or convenience store -- the Catbird will prosper. Until then, well, it will have to make do. The staff are very cordial and professional; they do a good job, even when faced with a pair of overweight, high-handed hipsters demanding the hotel's help in obtaining a refund (that they did not deserve). (Yes, I witnessed that scene on my first day at the Catbird; the staff were models of calm and restraint.) RGHardy

Great location great hotel

Great boutique hotel with a lot of amenities. They give you hot/cold breakfast daily with coffee provided all day. Cool rooftop, and phenomenal location. Rooms are well kept although definitely different. The in room projector screen was neat. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is advertised as four stars, but I think it’s three stars at best. The lobby is very messy and unwelcoming. There is a section that serves as a kitchen, a marketplace, and supposedly the front desk, but most of the time no one is there. The self check-in is a nice feature, but it’s hidden in a den and the instructions are not clear. There is no coffee maker in the rooms, and housekeeping is only provided weekly. The complimentary breakfast is mediocre. Self-parking is a five-minute walk away, and the path is difficult to navigate with luggage. The neighborhood is also quite bland. Overall, I don’t recommend this place.

Very cool space and vibe, but the front desk staff and check-in process are confusing. The front desk is situated on the same counter as a open air kitchen serving as a cafe. The wait time for simple things was a bit annoying. The hotel lobby had a strong smell of sewage and the roof was leaking for the entire 3 day stay.

The few times i have stayed here have been amazing!! Staff is friendly only down side of this place is parking $50 for vallet is a little extreme but they do offer you a choice to park down the road for $20 in a parking garage unfortunately i bring alot of work stuff with me so i can walk down the road with it all and kinda have been forced to use vallet!! Not there fault but should really try to lower the cost of vallet! Only other complaint i have is the rooms are pricey some weekends to the point i have to book different hotels as they are much cheaper down the road! I will definitely be back if i can find cheaper rates as sometimes there rates are outrageous!! But still love the catbird very cool atmosphere there!

We absolutely loved this hotel. The room was very comfortable and modern. We loved the lofted bed. The patio on the roof was so cool. And super easy access to The Mission Ballroom. We will stay again. I wasn't a huge fan of the self check-in but we managed to figure it out.
