"An excellent break with delicious food"
We (three couples) booked the Waterdine as a base for a weekend while walking part of the Offa's Dyke National Trail - and what a lucky find it was! One of the group told a friend that she was going walking on Offa's Dyke, and the immediate reply, without even knowing which part of the trail we were going to, was "You must go to the Waterdine!". The dinner each night was delicious and incredibly good value - I wasn't surprised later to discover that Ken had been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand when he was based in Ludlow. There were also plenty of options for cooked breakfasts, all of which we enjoyed between us. Isabel was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but very comfortable. The location is beautifully quiet and it was lovely to sit and admire the landscape / birds in the garden. There is no mobile phone reception in the hotel or immediate surrounding area, but that's just a feature of the geography of this part of the world, where hills get in the way of signals. We had a fantastic time and hope to visit again.

"You get what you pay for"
I needed a cheap stay over and found this hotel on Expedia for only £36 for a double room with breakfast. At that price I wasn't expecting much as long as we could get our heads down for the night. The hotel was built in the Victorian era and needed a little TLC - the usual story with these large hotels. However on arrival we were greeted by a lovely reception area with a bar to the left and breakfast room to the right. The staff were helpful and the lady on reception told us they were expecting us and our room was ready. The room was spacious, warm and clean. There was an abundance of tea, coffee, milk and sugar. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite was clean. The shower was forceful but when my husband ran the bath, the water was slightly discoloured from a rusty tank- Victorian plumbing!!!! The floorboards creaked a little and the furniture was dated but that was expected. We were shown to our breakfast table by the waiter and were told to help ourselves to cereal and fruit juice. There wasn't a great variety but enough. Porridge and Breakfast was freshly cooked and served at the table. All in all for the price we paid, we were pleasantly surprised and would happily stay here again

"People skills ??"
We stayed at the hotel for one night. We had telephoned earlier to cancel because of very bad weather predicted for the day of arrival. We were told we would lose our deposit so went ahead. It is 4 p.m. arrival policy so we were very tired because of the long drive and dreadful weather conditions. We were given a very unwelcoming arrival bordering on rudeness. At that stage I could have happily have burst into tears. Things did improve with a lovely fire to sit by and a very nice dinner. My husband asked if we could have coffee and cheese and biscuits in the sitting room. There are no TV's in the bedroom and there was a programme on Wales we wanted to watch. We were taken aback when we were told there was a no food policy in the sitting room. Having stayed in top hotels all over the world and we do consider ourselves "housetrained" we felt slightly insulted but rules are rules. A nice stay but spoilt by the two incidents

Crossgates is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Crossgates, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Crossgates hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
