No USB ports in the rooms for charging phones. No bottle water in the rooms and mini bar would have been nice for the class of hotel, I would have expected this. My wife also commented on that there was no conditioner in the room. Room was clean, staff were pleasant, although the lady in reception did take us to the wrong floor first for our room. The building and surrounding grounds was beautiful and although they had electrical points, they were slow - only 7.3Kwh - same you would find in your home.

Disappointed as we had someone knock on our door and run away then was woke up at 3am to kids running up and down the corridors! Which you wound of thought wouldn’t be allowed! So very tired after our stay

Nice wedding but mediocre room

I attended for a wedding. The wedding itself was nice and the meal was good but the room itself was just okay. It was very basic with some issues like taps that were hard to turn off that would drip unless you really turned them with some force. The radiator was also quite noisy and the room itself was very noisy with little soundproofing from people around. The thumb rest on the shower head was also broken so I couldn’t change the spray type.

We booked a room for two nights. It was a clean room with well stocked tea facilities. Sadly the first night we had very noisy neighbours and perhaps smokers as they were in and out of the room banging doors until 1am. The second night was much more pleasant. Although we were able to park close to our room, it is a little bit of a walk to get back to reception, restaurants and spa facilities. The Spa facilities were small but adequate with a nice sized gym. The food served in the restaurant was fresh and very nice. The staff were all lovely and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

A special shout out to Sian on reception for being so lovely. I turned up at the hotel a little emotional after receiving some bad news and she was really lovely to me. This was my second stay at the hotel. I think the deluxe room is considerably nicer than the standard room, however, the bed felt really firm. Otherwise, the grounds and inside the hotel is lovely.

I booked a deluxe room for our Anniversary we arrived thinking we were staying in the lovely manor shown but when uou get there they put you in what can only be described as barracks the delux bed was to singles pushed together for £135 it was disappointing to say the least

Nice hotel in lovely grounds. Gym and health suite are well appointed. Room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Particularly liked the Penhaligons toiletries provided.

Beautiful old building with a grand entrance. Once inside the rooms are in a huge maze of corridors in a more modern building. Everywhere is very clean and the bedroom was comfortable but freezing cold. The radiator didn’t work and a plug in heater was brought in by housekeeping. The restaurant was nicely furnished but had crumbs in our seats when we sat down. The table was sticky also. It took over half an hour for two drinks to arrive and an hour for our one course meal. Not impressed. It wasn’t busy.
