We stayed overnight in Copenhagen Denmark, Bergen Norway on this trip. And at from n=2, it seems scandinavian hotel rooms are just much smaller than in the US, even NYC. Not sure why, they seem to have enough space. The wash basin in our Copenhagen hotel was the smallest I've ever seen - amazing water didn't splash all over. But excellent breakfast, superb! And very helpful staff, allowing us to leave luggage a day before our check-in date. They (suspect robot) emailed me twice on Expedia asking what wine we want in our room and I answered both times, but upon check-in, the front desk lady said she didn't know about this. She did provide the VIP-access drink credit as listed on Expedia. All in all, a nice stay, if only the rooms could be bigger.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. Was worried when we first arrived due to the music venue across the road. However as informed all music stopped by 9PM. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Mediocre Hotel with NOISY Neighbor Across the Stre

A mediocre experience at the Wide Hotel: 1) the open air music/beer garden across the street is continuous until 21:00. Hard to enjoy time in the room during the day and evening. Not whining, the music is LOUD 2) housekeeping is fair. Left soap in shower and tissue dispenser empty. 3) the listing shows an outdoor deck at the top of the building. No labeling to state the deck is only for most expensive rooms at the top. I chose this hotel with expectations of enjoying the desk

Well situated for Tivoli, train station and main shopping street with Nyhavn a little further. Staff members were friendly and mainly helpful. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice of food. The cost was DK 245, about £30 per person per day. Expensive and not worth the cost. Room was small with no drawers for clothes and a small wardrobe. Bathroom was small, very small with a minute wash basin. The shower itself was good but again the ‘shower room’ was small and narrow. Oddly, there was no security chain on the door but there was a peephole. Opposite the hotel there is a bar and music venue open April to September (according to their website). The ‘music’ can start at 5.00, or earlier, and only stops at 9.00. It is loud, very loud and whilst we were there was ‘house’ music, so no melody just a thumping drum beat. I did complain but the person I spoke to showed no empathy and suggested, in not so many words, the landowner can do what they want in Copenhagen. I will not stay here again due to the noise and small room. I do not recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable bed. Very quiet room despite being right by the lift and loud music happening outside. Good shower and nice toiletries. Ideal location for someone who, like me, was travelling solo as you’re close to the main rail station, Tivoli and the main centre. The view from my room was just the back of a building so wasn’t quite sure about the bed positioning facing out but it was easily resolved by closing the curtain. Good lighting which is always lovely to have in a hotel room. I had the breakfast and there was a good range which helped set the day off to a good start. Lovely staff and very helpful.

Noise and uncomfortable bedding in a small room

Absolutely the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s across the street from an outdoor disco that has a driving beat going for hours every day except Sunday. The linens felt as stiff as construction paper. Never again. How is this a 4-star hotel????

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the metro and train stations, making it easy to explore the area. I appreciated that they honored my request for a room on the quieter side of the hotel, allowing for a peaceful stay. However, my experience with the cleaning staff was disappointing. When I requested an extra duvet, the manager was quite rude, stating they didn't have extras available and could only provide flat sheets. Fortunately, after leaving a note, I received the extra duvet from other staff, which was a relief. The breakfast buffet was decent, featuring a variety of options, but it did become monotonous as the same items were served daily. Reception service was satisfactory, though I felt it could be more welcoming. Overall, the hotel's strengths in location and accommodating room requests outweigh some minor service issues, making it a solid choice for travelers.

We had to move rooms 3 times. The first time was because there was no hot water for the shower and they couldn’t fix it. The property was sold out so we had that room for 2 nights then we were downgraded to a room partially below the parking lot. The room had a leak. Nobody would help us move our luggage and we had to drag it downstairs because there was no elevator to that side of the building. The front desk staff was terrible! They offered NO assistance and made us check out and store our luggage before giving us a new room. FINALLY a wonderful gentleman at the front desk understood and sympathized with us since we were there 4 nights and switched our room. Again though, no luggage assistance or compensation for the disturbance and inconvenience.

I would strongly recommend the Wide Hotel. It is centrally located and the staff is excellent and very responsive to the needs of the guests. I would like to highlight Brian, who works at the front desk, in particular as he helped me navigate a difficult situation. A situation that was resolved through his patience, professionalism and kindness. If you are going to visit Copenhagen and are looking for an excellent Hotel - I recommend the Wide Hotel.

You can’t beat this location. Easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants, museums, the train station, and Tivoli! As others have said, ask for a room facing away from the street, because there’s an outdoor concert venue across the street. Our room was tiny, but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good.
