"Haythrop Park recent stay"
Summary of our stay - We stayed for one night in the Longview room, the room was lovely, comfortable with everything needed & the view just beautiful. The Haythrop estate is large with much to explore, discover & enjoy, we would have needed to stay for many more nights to discover all it has to offer. Swimming pool facilities very acceptable, although take care, the floor is extremely slippery & apparently the mens changing rooms were freezing. The downside 1. Some of the staff were super friendly, namely the wonderful concierge and reception staff and a few others but some really were not & seemed not to care in the slightest. 2. The food, for a hotel of this level is atrocious, we ate breakfast and at the Brassry for a lunch snack & evening meal. I think possibly a great summary of the standard of food is; the chefs special sweet 'Black Forest gateaux' which we were later informed was no longer available and now the chefs special was orange jelly, we refrained was asking if it was Rowntrees!! Absolutely nothing appears freshly cooked, everything is processed, there are no organic or free range options even the eggs are not free range. The breakfast although a large choice was again mostly processed food, none of the meat is presented as local. We may stay again as the old hotel, it's grounds & it's location is are all just wonderful but we will not eat a morsel of food it has to offer and expect very little from the majority of the staff.

"Not perfect but would be happy to return."
I don't normally write reviews but this hotel provides good accommodation and food in a nice peaceful setting and is ideal for a short break in the Cotswolds and I would happily return without hesitation but I would like to suggest some areas for improvement. Lovely huge shower and water pressure adequate but it would benefit from more pressure. Although most of hotel is air-conditioned the dining room is not and was very hot given fabulous weather and 34 degree heat outside - perhaps have portable air-conditioning units in the dining room to cope with extremes. Staff attentive and generally efficient but a basic question to the waitress at 8pm about "What is the soup of the day?" to be met with the answer "Sorry I don't know I will have to check" was surprising - perhaps a junior member of staff new to the job so better training recommended. Also our room confirmation was booked for 2 adults and 1 child but there was no extra bed on arrival but it was quickly resolved whist we had our evening meal. Again an issue of staff training or communication. I did not try the Spa facilities so cannot comment on these. Not perfect, some minor flaws and recommendations but would return.

Chipping Norton is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Chipping Norton, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Chipping Norton hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
