The rooms and property at The Beach Club Charleston were very nice and well-kept, which made the stay comfortable. However, the hospitality at the front desk fell short of expectations. I noticed that some guests were offered maps of the property at check-in, while I was not. I also had to specifically ask about restaurant locations and the complimentary shuttle service rather than being informed upfront. On the other hand, the shuttle driver was excellent—friendly, helpful, and welcoming, as was the wait staff at the Fish House restaurant. They stood out in contrast to the front desk experience. Overall, while the property itself is beautiful, the front desk team could benefit from more consistent hospitality training to ensure all guests feel equally welcomed and informed.

The hot tub, a firepit, and the outside shower were all not functioning. In the room the cieling fan and lavatory lights were not working. At check in we were not given the patio room which is what I booked, after I asked she gave us a different room, which was still not the patio room indjcated in the booking. I just didn't feel like going back a second time. Also, I needed to ask about a free drink token that was advirtised on the desk...and wasn't told about the wifi.

We made a last minute reservation and the price couldn't be beat! We had a gorgeous king room with a huge balcony. Our only complaint is that there was no way to adjust the air conditioning from blasting all night. You couldnt adjust the fan. It only had one setting. If we raised the temp from 68 to 69, it got humid. So be ok with wearing the provided robe! I loved it. My husband was freezing!! The bathroom was stunning! We were told the restaurant was open until 10pm but at 9pm it was very closed so that was a disappointment. The pool also closed at 9pm. Wish it was open til 11pm, especially during the summer. 9pm seems early. I could have used a nice swim after traveling all day. We absolutely loved our short stay and we will deifnitly go back!

Great location and resort has potential. First room moldy. Staff seems uninterested and surroundings needs cleaning (plastic, cigarette butts). Seems short staffed. Has the potential to be great. Found a used shirt in our room. Inconsistent cleaning (forgot us twice). Otherwise good property and seems modern. Could be great but needs attention

Not impressed! We took a short trip to Charleston for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The resort looked impressive upon arrival, and we received an email offering early check-in for a fee. We adjusted our plans and arrived at noon, expecting to settle in early. However, after checking in at the front desk, we were told the room would be ready "shortly." Despite multiple follow-ups, we weren’t able to access our room until 3:30 PM. It was disappointing, especially since we should have been informed upfront that early check-in wasn’t actually available. Honesty goes a long way. The ceiling fan creaked loudly, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. More concerning, the room and bathroom showed signs of neglect—mold on the ceiling, stains in the shower stall, and overall poor cleanliness. For our next Charleston visit, we’ll be staying at a different hotel in the area. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.
