This property is a work in progress as of June 2025. It was bought out and the new owners are doing renovations.
My first impression, the property was relatively clean. The staff welcoming.
I was put on the second floor. And there was no elevator available at the time of my stay. The staff was able to help carry our bags upstairs due to I have medical issues. There was no way I was going to be able to do it.
Down the hallways leading to my room, several different light fixtures were in the process of being renovated so there were wires exposed. An unmanned ladder was left all day on Saturday in the walkway.
The room was small, but it was clean and comfortable. The door for the bathroom slides open and close. The first time my son went to the bathroom, the handle broke. I did inform the staff but didn’t see it as a reason to change rooms. She was very polite and willing to move us.
We left out bag with toiletries at home. The staff was very sweet and gave us extra shampoo and conditioner because the bottles were small. They were very accommodating.
At check out, we needed help again to get the bags downstairs. Again, a staff member assisted us quickly and made the inconvenience of the elevator out of service not so bad.
Honestly, we would stay again. Hopefully a little further in the renovation stage.
Absolutely horrid experience. If I could give zero stars I would. From check in to check out it was the most horrific experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. At check-in we should’ve just turned around and left. They tried to give us a room that smelled like smoke from the moment we opened the door. When we went downstairs to let them know, they told us that they would change us right away no problems gave us the room next-door, which also smelled like smoke. The fact that there was no elevator should’ve tipped us off right away and they put us upstairs all the way in the back. Why do you not have an elevator for a two-story hotel? They then put us downstairs in a room that smelled musty but did not smell like smoke. We opened the door and there are stains on the curtains stains on the wall cracks in the wall stains on the carpet. It was just absolutely abysmal. The door to the bathroom was a pocket door and did not fully shut or lock. There were cracks in the wall, crack in the sink, and the door to the shower did not fully shut or lock. We figured we were just sleeping there for one night so we were just going to bear with it and deal with it. We left for the evening and came back later and the parking lot was absolutely full of cars as was the restaurant parking lot next-door. The restaurant next-door had music absolutely thumping from it that we could hear in our room as well that did not stop until well past 2 AM. We woke up to cockroaches in our bathroom.

Shower Door wouldn't shut. Water all over the floor bc of it. Dude passed out in the hallway. Puke on the floor headed to the 2nd floor.. this was right there in front of the front desk.. still there in the AM. ( NO elevator)...ice machine on 2nd floor didnt work. Free Breakfast was average at best. Didn't go to the pool but looked at it...hard pass.

I'm giving them an overall 5 stars for trying dang hard. The property is in transition. Give them a shot. I expect it will get better with each passing week.
It's not without issues currently. No elevator in a two story property. The room I was in was musty. Big red (nail polish?) stain in the carpet in front of the sink. Bathroom door had issues. Shower door had issues and the hinges are coming out of the wall. Beds weren't all that comfortable. At breakfast, the waffle batter clogged and had ended up in a big mess on the floor. There's not really enough parking for the number of rooms.
The staff are really trying though. So I would stay there again before I pass final judgment. It's hard work to turn around and rebrand a property.
Room was clean, staff was friendly, and breakfast each day was 10/10 with plenty of options. Did not get time to check out the pool unfortunately. Only a few minor complaints: water pressure was constantly low in the sink and the light above sink mirror was very dim. With all that to say, we will likely stay again if we come back to the area.
The night I checked in I was placed in one room and received keys for another. Because of this, someone tried to come into my room while I was in bed. It startled me and I was unable to sleep not sure if someone was going to come into my room again. The room was very dated, and furniture and light fixtures were not properly functioning. I also received mystery bug bites my first night.
Friendly staff. Though the facility was being remodeled, it was clean and comfortable.

Quiet but cluttered because repairs. Part of ceiling in bathroom might fall out soon. Moldy ceiling & walls. Hopefully the next repairs get to be the rooms.
Nice community. Nice staff. Easy check in/out process. Clean. You can tell it’s being renovated so not everything is perfect but it was good for the price and location to where I needed to be. It’s only 40 minutes from downtown Charleston. And an hour to 2 hours to public beaches depending on where you go. My main goal was traveling to the goose creek military base which was 25-30 minutes from the hotel which was perfect since I didn’t mind the drive.
Hot water was minimal. Exterior door entrance was always accessible w/out room key, pool was maintained daily but more chemicals and filters running overnight would help, breakfast choices were always same and minimal, juice machine still out of order. Hotel management seemed more interested in putting new exterior cameras up.
