There are many positives to this hotel, including the really wonderful breakfast, the helpful staff and to a certain extent its location. Our room and the hotel were impeccably clean and modern. We were upgraded in our room. The room was really nice in every way except that it only had sky lights for windows. That made me feel closed in but in 4 nights I began to get used to it. The only other issue I would mention is that they suggested we use bottled water to drink but then charged 3 euros for a small bottle - which I opened thinking it was free. After I figured it out we bought a 2 liter bottle in a bodega for 1.5 euros. No hotel that I have been in has charged for bottled water when they suggest we don't drink the water. In fact in a hotel this pricey bottled water is free. I have tried to separate my feelings about Catania in general (not great) from my feelings about this hotel.

Beautiful modern hotel in a fantastic central location in Catania. All key sites are within easy walking distance, and the staff were very helpful with information and requests. I would definitely recommend for all visits to this beautiful city.

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The first room we were given was horrible. There were little ants/bugs along the floor walls, and the room itself was musty, bare, and depressing. It was more like a room in a hostel. We were provided another room which was much much better. This room was modern, inviting and comfortable. The best aspect of this hotel is the great breakfast experience. A nice variety of sweet and savoury items. The first level is constantly being painted and redone. The persons at reception were professional enough, but definitely not friendly. My suggestion is for this hotel to provide the guests staying on the first floor to be provided with much better rooms. Needless to say, try not to be given a first floor room.
