This is a quaint Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Catania. The room was spacious and the balcony amazing! Breakfast offered a variety of options in a very pleasant and tranquil atmosphere! Highly recommend!

Excellent for central stay with children

Family stay in the comfort room was excellent. Both beds comfy and the rooms were super clean. Right in the heart of everything to see and do. Loved our stay and hope to return in the future. Park across the road is beautiful and has a children’s playground as well.

Great location, comfortable, safe, friendly staff. Easily walkable to most Cantania points of interest. They helped arrange parking for us less than 70m from the hotel but I would recommend not having a car in Catania as the traffic is very bad.

Rough start with stay at Etna Suite

Rough start but finished nicely. Was traveling with 2 year old and had requested a pack n play when booked hotel. We arrived and were informed that their pack n play was broken and they couldn't provide one until the next night. This was unacceptable to us since the room had steps up to the main bedroom. The staff member said she would go out and buy a new one except she couldn't leave her desk. We said we would buy it as long as they reimbursed us but they refused. Then they said they didn’t have to provide one since I hadn't requested it prior to arrival. When I showed them my message to them over 2 1/2 months earlier for a pack n play, they said that they thought that referred to parking. In the end they provided a pack n play on our first night but we wasted 2 hours fighting with them and it could have and should have been handled better. The rest of our stay was fine - nice room and good breakfast.

Great hotel located on the main shopping street and 10 minutes walk to the old town centre. Lots of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Hotel clean and tidy and when windows closed it blocks out almost all the traffic noise- even the police sirens. Great information sent prior to check in and staff very helpful. Great breakfast options. Would stay again.

The hotel was in an excellent location and was close to everything you would want to walk to in Catania. The staff was fantastic and helped us get a cab at 3:00 in the morning when no public transit was available to take us to the airport. The breakfast that is served daily is delicious and has a great variety of options. The rooms are lovely and we would definitely stay there again.

The property was located in a central place. That was the only good thing about the property. Food was Ok. First day they asked and made us Cappuccino but from the second day no one even bothered to ask. The room was just OK but what I did not like is that the room was full of black bugs crawling everywhere. The bugs were in the bathroom near the shower and sink and near the bed and crawling all over. I first thought the bugs were only in the bathroom but then saw them everywhere. This was really bad. I took some videos of the bugs crawling and can send it if you would like to look at it. Also, there was construction work going on all the time at this place and workers were there on the stairs and corridors fixing the walls for painting and other repairs or just walking by here and there. It was very irritating and frustrating to see the workers in the hallways all the time and it was such a nuisance. I will never again stay at this hotel.

The hotel is very close to everything and to shopping. Breakfast was decent and room was nice. The only thing to keep in my mind that we didn’t look carefully is the no lift. We had to go up 4 flights of stairs to our room.

Etna suite

Staff were friendly and helpful. They sent instructions beforehand. When i couldnt understand the lady on the phone, she sent me the message in a whatsapp message. The room itself was nicely decorated and clean. Bed comfy enough. View from the balcony was poor (just a shabby grey building and a tin roof). Air con worked well. The bathroom was nice and clean also. Shower was one of the overhead 'rain' showers, which isn't my preference in a small cubicle as there is always water hitting your face. Better to just have a normal shower head in there imo. Breakfast was lovely. Great selection. Cereals, breads, doughnuts, meats, cheeses, fruit, cakes, cannolis, coffee, juices etc. Only real downsides to the room were that the emergency light in the room had a green power LED that was on all the time. This lit the room up like a Christmas tree at night and contributed to 2 poor nights sleep. Before the 3rd night, I stuck a makeshift light blocker up and slept much better (pack some card and tape for this purpose). Another downside is that it's quite a noisy hotel. The metal grate downstairs that leads to the stairs of the hotel slammed shut on numerous occasions (apparently I was one of the only guests to have a bit of consideration and close it gently...), which could be heard as a big bang in my room. Other doors could be heard closing loudly in the evening/night as well. Maybe the hotel needs to invest in some soft closings for the doors (especially the metal gate).
