Great food, stunning views but take ear plugs!
I've stayed at Carnoustie Golf and Spa Hotel twice in as many months. Sadly i wasnt able to use the spa as my trips have been for work but the views are outstanding- each time I've stayed in a room with a view of the course.
The third floor is a bit tired now and lacked a full length mirror but was very spacuous.
The second floor with the renovated bathrooms and new carpets has made a huge difference, having stayed where they've yet to upgrade.
Love the Highland Soap Company toiletries, the Nespresso machine and having an iron & ironing board is always welcome. The beds are very comfortable and you'll not want to get up in the morning - once you get to sleep (see below).
Staff were mostly welcoming and helpful, the breakfast staff in particular are amongst the warmest people I've met.
What I didnt like: room service - you need to ask for a menu at reception - that you'll need to phone for on your mobile phone because the telephone didn't work in either of my rooms. And if you're going to add some leaves / side salad to a plate, please add some dressing. But my biggest dislike: hearing people talk, snore, their TV in the room either side of me!! The walls clearly have no soundproofing whatsoever which was really disappointing and is probably why I wouldnt stay again - sleep is important.
