Pros: Large 2 bedroom suite with living room which is good for teenage kids. There are several pools and jacuzzis. Kayaking is free but at the mercy of the wind (closed on windy days). Mexican food is good, buffet is good. Cons: The property is dated compared to its sister property Garza Blanca. Several items in my room were broken including the door scanner, the automatic blinds in the bedroom and living room, and the jacuzzi water was yellow. The restaurants were decent except for the steak. Don’t order steak any where on premise, the cuts are thin, cooked poorly and are definitely poor quality. The pools are ok but since there are so many kids the chances are high that there will be an accident. My last day there one of the pools was closed for 4 hours, and had to be “shocked” which means someone went number 2. Tipping is out of control compared to other places in Cancun because the staff doesn’t get paid a real wage. Lastly they try to get you to sign up to their residency club and say it’s only 90 minutes (took 3 hours). Definitely feels like a pyramid scheme they have to fund construction. It’s not a time share, more likely a “scam” share since you don’t own anything but the right to use their properties. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it over the Hilton all Inclusive which is newer.

The property is beautiful. The pools are pristine, and the restaurants boast delicious gourmet food. We were disappointed that our personal hot tub on our balcony did not work during our entire stay. We paid a premium price for the room we had and were not compensated in anyway for this. (we were told we could perhaps have a free night if we booked there again.) We also had trouble upon arrival paying our balance. We tried to use our American Express card and were told that the machines were having trouble processing it in USD. So, we agreed to allow the card to be processed in pesos, and ended up being charged $250 more than the agreed-upon balance owed. We received varying responses regarding this and never had it resolved during our five nights there. So, we filed a dispute upon returning home. It was unusual since we were able to use our American Express card on the property to book excursions in USD. The hotel charges a higher exchange rate, but this was not told to us at the time we agreed to charge the amount in pesos. Still, you would think the amount of pesos would be adjusted to match the balance owed in USD.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa del Palmar Cancun! The resort was absolutely gorgeous, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, the food was amazing, and the overall atmosphere was the perfect combination of relaxing and family friendly. There are a lot of activities planned for kids, which is really nice. We celebrated my son's 4th birthday while on vacation here and the staff was so sweet in making his day special. I would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend to others! We had a wonderful vacation!

I have a frequented many resorts, and by far this is the most depressing resort ever. You can definitely tell that the staff gets spoken to daily by management about their up charges. They do not have a service oriented attitude. You can tell the staff are not happy.

Beautiful property. Amazing staff; Benito & David took excellent care of us bringing us things & drinks to make our time by the pool so relaxing. The downside to being poolside was that there weren't any umbrellas for shade for those of us that werent VIP & the VIP's had their spots reserved in advance with yellow towels. Never having been there, we didn't know it was an option or what the cost was for it. There are several dining options, however, there is only one option for breakfast and only a few for lunch; all dinner options needed reservations or you can join the wait list & hope that someone doesn't show up for their reservation. I strongly suggest that you go all inclusive, it's worth the cost. The patio & the suite were both very spacious & very clean with comfortable beds (w/down comforters) and the sofa & chairs were also great. Overall a great place to takea vacation.

Villa Del Palmar is a beautiful resort in a great location. We loved our 6 days there and are already thinking about going back. The staff is amazing, they are very friendly and accommodating and all the service was excellent. The food was also very good! I would 10/10 recommend staying here!

Just returned from an incredible stay at Villa del Palmar, and I can’t say enough good things! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The resort itself is stunning—beautifully maintained grounds, sparkling pools, and direct access to a pristine beach with crystal-clear water. The all-inclusive experience was top-notch. The food was varied and delicious, with multiple dining options that catered to every taste. Whether it was the beachfront grill, the fine dining restaurant, or the buffet, everything was fresh and flavorful. The drinks were also great—generous pours and plenty of options. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a breathtaking ocean view. Housekeeping did a wonderful job every day. There were also tons of activities available—snorkeling, paddle boarding, daily entertainment, and more—but it was just as easy to relax in a cabana and do nothing at all. What really stood out was the service. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. If you’re looking for a relaxing, worry-free beach vacation, Villa del Palmar is the place to be!

This is a great property for families with younger children (under 10). If you are looking for a quieter stay, with fewer kids, I would recommend an adults-only or something less kid-focused.
