Great location but dated room

On the positive side this motel was in an excellent location - direct access to the beach and a 3 minute stroll into town. However the room itself was extremely dated and clearly in need of some refurbishment. If you’re planning to spend most of your time out of the room then this might be an option but otherwise I’d look elsewhere

The Wollongbar Motel is a superb place to stay when visiting Byron Bay. It's really clean and well maintained. There's acees to thebeach from the motel grounds. It's a 3 minute walk from the centre of town. Cannot recommend it enough.

There was plenty of free parking in car park. Reception is available 8:30-5 only. The sliding door to room was very difficult to figure out how to lock and unlock. It would be very easy to break into the rooms. There was a small pool and a bbq on property I like the path to the beach from the back of property. The room had kettle, microwave, and fridge. The room was large. Ours had a queen and a bunk bed. TV had a variety of channels. Room was very quiet. You can walk to town in less than 10 minutes. The carpet was worn in the room. The room had a damp smell to it .

First impressions when entering the complex was that it would be very quaint based on the exterior of the vuildings Accommodation was however only ok, it has seen better days and would benefit from an upgrade. There were aspects where better finishing would have been good e.g. the air conditioner had clearly been replaced but there were holes in the brickwork where the previous appliance had been positioned. Plastic rubbish bags had been stuffed into other gaps in the walls elsewhere in the room. The room itself was very spacious however the kitchen area worktop was very confined. Unlike other rooms which had a sink unit, this room did not as it was designed for a disabled person. As such the bathroom was very spacious but in terms of the tiling it had seen better days. As I did not have a sink I had to use the bathroom washbasin to wash up crockery etc. Service was attentive though. Whenever I was outside in the courtyard, I was asked by the staff if there was anything I needed. The staff were very friendly too Perfect location. Close to the centre of Byron.

Great location. Private access to Belongil Beach. Short walk to main street of Byron, parks, etc. Rooms are very clean, basic amenities. Staff are lovely. Great place to stay if you plan to be out and about all day or sit by the pool. Given it is a motel with cars parked just out of your room, it isn’t the place to hang and chill in your room, if that is what you are after.

This room was dirty. There was poo on the toilet seat. Mould in the bathroom and dust everywhere. We paid for 2 nights and only stayed for 1. We left without telling them, as we were so disappointed in this place.
