2 nights in Burra to explore history

Charming miners cottages in the centre of Burra, within easy walking distance to eating & shops. Quiet, spacious, very comfy bed. Being winter the cottages do get cold but heat pump soon fixed that. When we arrived at the front of the cottages a notice on the gate said to check in around the corner at the office on site so we drove around only to find a board propped against a tree saying check in was now via the camp ground along the road. Another couple were in the same boat. When we arrived at the camp grounds there we no issues, the lady was very friendly, i informed her of the miscommunication info& was going to sort it out. We were told the cottages are council run. A message prior to check in to clarify this would be helpful. An otherwise great stay.

This is an amazing place to stay and can't wait to do so again. The miner's cottages have been beautifully updated, everything provided and very comfy beds to sleep in. The outdoor seating area is fabulous, thank you for providing that, so nice to be able to sit outside on a summer's night. Location is ideal, an easy and quick walk to the local pub, walk to the shops, the location is spot on

Extremely clean and tidy. Fantastic communication and friendly staff. A few constructive comments - it would be great to have non-slip tiles in the shower area and bigger, more effective air conditioning throughout. Extremely hot in summer (even with air conditioner). Some rooms were impossible to cool down. Overall a good experience. Would be great in winter!

Stayed there before (9 years ago or so) - improved with the installation of air conditioning. Just had an overnight stay on way to Broken Hill and it was ideal for that purpose.

Great place to stay in Burra

Very cool, historic cottages with stone interiors. They're walking distance to the main square and many historical sites. One suggestion is to have a playground in the centre grass area! Although there is a playground in a very nearby park too.
