The staff where very friendly and attentive, food was excellent, the bed was comfortable. The shower was good . My only complaint would be the tea and coffee was cold and toast was served 10 minutes before the cooked breakfast was served. The breakfast itself was hot and good quality. We would definitely go back .

Checked out after a few minutes

Postcode was useless to find the hotel which was ~600m away. Why not describe location as well? Inside was very tired with threadbare carpet. Room was Spartan like. Although we had prepaid, we left after a few minutes. No refund - breakfast was "complimentary".

Well welcomed.

The multi tasking receptionist was excellent and very helpful, even carrying our heavy bags up to our good sized room ! I was disappointed with the food which arrived too quickly and seemed to be already prepared. The breakfast "menu" was a bit miserable and confusing and for some reason was limited to a type of egg and 4 accompanying items - an unfull English so to speak ! It's well situated with good views of Edinburgh across the Firth and ample parking but be careful parking under the tree s !

The hotel has clearly seen better days and is in need of a complete refurbishment. The room was dated, with a stained carpet and a squeaky bed. The linoleum bathroom floor was peeling away in some areas. The bed linen was clean, but there were some unidentified hairs in the shower. Breakfast was okay. A completely different note goes to the staff – they were extremely kind and helpful. Special mention to the Indian restaurant: we didn’t eat there as we weren’t expecting it, but the dishes we saw looked very appetizing.

On the whole, our stay was good.The staff were very helpful and we both enjoyed the two meals we had. The hotel is in transtion at the moment coming under new ownership. Its down side is it location being at the extreme edge of Burntisland and the fact that the main fife costal railway was on the other side of the road, so it was quiet unless a train was going by. The hotel has regular bus services going by. Locals are happy to come in for their evening meals which is usually a good sign.
