Great location
This is an historic cottage so I wasn't sure how luxurious it would be...it wasn't. However, the bed was comfortable and the room more than adequate. We were a short walk to the Mammoth Cave visitor center so that was perfect.
Wonderful motel-style room at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave. Clean rooms complete with microwave mini fridge and coffeemaker. Walking distance to Mammoth Cave tours and Green River restaurant. Dark at night with birdsong in the morning. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!
The Woodlands Cabins where we stayed which are part of The Lodge at Mammoth Cave are conveniently located across from the Mammoth Cave visitors center. They are rustic little cabins which we did not mind. The gentlemen at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, close to many hiking trails and deer roam the property. Overall a very nice stay with our grandchildren.

Nice two bedroom cabin probably built in the 1940s. Some modern upgrades like A/C. No TVs in the room. This is a cabin, not a hotel, it’s a cool experience for a night or so. I don’t think I would stay any longer than that as we didn’t have sufficient hot water for showers. It’s very convenient to the visitor center and hiking trails. Overall I recommend it’s a cool experience and the kids liked it.
Be careful driving there- deer are everywhere (at least they were in November!). You’re going to want to get there before check-in time ends if possible. I was there just before a closed and it didn’t get the email. They sent me with the information until much later. The rooms were nice. We did get to see wildlife outside our bedroom window, which was pretty cool. It’s a great location because you can just walk to the caves (be sure to reserve your tickets before trying to enter a cave) and hiking trail trails or catch the bus. The staff at the restaurant on property were friendly and helpful.
Perfect option for our visit to Mammoth cave. Only negative was that the lighting for the path to the cottages was not working. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Donnie provided excellent instructions, and went out of his way to leave an additional voice mail message to make sure we had all the correct information. I really appreciate the customer service he provided!
