Terrible. Got stuck in the elevator, lobby smelled like bath and body works times 15 but not in a satisfying way. .I ended up with the WORST headache because of the smell. Our bed was on its last leg…literally. Dated everything. No comforter on our bed but the other bad did have that at least. Tub was dirty. Housekeeper was too lazy to actually replace the toilet paper and just sat it in the counter. The roll was empty. Front desk staff was nice but not attentive.

Hotel needs attention in various areas

It was very fair! Elevator was working gap hazardly, so I had 3 flights of steps repeatedly to climb. Coffee machine at breakfast broken. Lots of attention needed at this hotel. Overall it wasn’t the worst stay I’ve had at a hotel but they will have to do more for me to book again. And I will say we stay at this exit for Talladega race twice a year, so unfortunately I won’t repeat this stay. At best, good in a pinch!

It took a long time to check in. When we got to the room, the key didn’t work. Went back down and the new one didn’t either. The fourth key worked. We finally got in the room and it smelled like smoke and the smoke alarm was chirping so they gave us a new room. I got up to take a shower and the water was cold. I let it run for at least 10 minutes and gave up. Water in the sink was warm.

The hotel was very noisy, uncomfortably warm and in need of repairs. Something was up with the elevator at night. One employee said it was turned off and another employee said it needed to be repaired. The breakfast was pitiful. Needless to say, we would never stay here again and would probably avoid the LaQuinta brand.

The place is run down. My handicap room was next to the mechanical room and all I smelled were fumes of some sort. The furniture was the pits and renovation is badly needed for the property. One last thing, why would you put a handicap desk next to the air conditioning?

Easy check in. I got stuck in the elevator the first time I used it. The room was large but had lots of signs of age. Breakfast every day was gone by 8 am. They would refill when asked. In room coffee was only decaf and they didn't have regular at the front desk. The coffee at the breakfast area was really good though. Outside was clean and well lit. The beds were ok but the " blanket" was more like a thick sheet.

I will no longer ever ever ever book through a third party, I get the same issue...ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, if you can even reach anyone since they keep the phone numbers hidden or simply nowhere.... It would be helpful and nice if the hotel was at lease able to DO ANYTHING. I arrived, checked in but NEVER ENTERED THE ROOM....MY COMPANY MADE AN ERROR AND I WAS NEEDED ELSEWHERE and left Birmingham..I shouldn't have to pay for nothing. Plus my receipt says one thing and the charge is another. Just aggravated. Let me explain...I often come into a town for work to either test, assess a plant or participate in quality control and many times I will be needed in the evening...that being said,if I go in in the evening to finish in the morning I CANT get a room because of the ridiculous policy of 2:00 or 3:00 check in leaving me to either wander the streets or sleep in my truck till check in..only to sleep for 2 or 3 hours before headed back in. I am often paying for a night I do not use simply to insure I had a place to go in AM. THIS time it was futile since my requisition was for the wrong plant. It shouldn't be this hard considering most hotels are not sold out and without a room to go in at any time...hotels are just unbending and it is stupid and is contrary to every concept of good customer service. You serve the public, yet have so many rules and conditions. Have you ever thought about all the planes landing in the morning or travelers reaching their destination before 2pm?

The place was filled with artificial fragrance to cover up mildewy smells. It's was oppressive. The elevator quit working 2x while we are in it! Our room was not properly cleaned...we did not have duvets only sheets, I had to ask for the covers and then remake the beds. Our air conditioner was so poor every time we turned it on it was so loud squeaky it woke us up.

I arrived and had to pay an unexpected deposit. Expedia should have mentioned it because they were very rude about it when I got here. The pool was raggedy and cold. The halls didn’t smell good. The elevator was raggedy and out of service for partial of the time that I was there.
