If you like musty, damp and mildew....

The entire hotel (but our room especially) smelled musty and it was always damp. Don't bother trying to use the computer and printer in the lobby. It literally took about 15 minutes just to boot up the computer, and even longer to finally get it to print. I'd say I was there for at least 30 mins just trying to make a simple print. The hotel was not clean and definitely not worth the price.

If you can please select a more comfortable place

The hotel is not as nice as the pictures. It’s run down and old need alot of updates and pest control in the rooms. The breakfast choices weren’t all that great as well, you definitely get what you pay for here

The room smelled like mold…there was visible mold on the lampshade. I am pretty sure all the rooms were occupied by family members who own the hotel bc I asked for a new room & they said there wasn’t one available. However, there were hardly any cars in the parking lot. Very odd, very dirty, we will never stay here again.

Should have stayed at my normal Home 2 Suites

To save a few bucks, I thought I would go with Sleep Inn on this recent trip to Birmingham. The pictures looked inviting and the space looked to be adequate. However, upon arrival, we were almost knocked over with the strong smell of Fabuloso or Pine-Sol or a combination of both. It was so strong in the room. The room itself is pretty rundown, paint chipping, windowsill falling out of the window. We figured that out when we tried to open the window to air out the room. Carpet was pretty nasty…Sticky. The bathroom door could barely open up without hitting the front of the toilet. We didn’t have breakfast, but attempted to have the coffee. Tried the medium and bold brew and both were like coffee tinted water. The pull out couch was old and basically springs so we could not use it. Also, found food wrappers in the couch when we pulled it out. The front desk was polite but not very helpful when it came to a mishap with our reservation after a death in the family. (Still waiting to hear from the manager re: refund of a changed reservation.) We’ve been in a circle of communication with Sleep Inn and Hotels.com and have not gotten anywhere. I will continue to book my future stays with Hilton hotels directly through their website. I will not be using hotels.com again as well.

It's a nice property, in a convenient location. Everything looked and smelled clean, the staff was very friendly. Honestly, I was surprised at how nice it was because of the low price. I would definitely stay here again!

For the cost we paid, I definitely expected more from this hotel. It said this room was non-smoking but the room smelled like it had been smoked in. The shower made a high-pitched squeal noise. The pull out bed didn’t look or smell very clean at all. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again.

Good but with an observation.

The check in was great. The overall room was good. But the pillow cases were not changed and the bed spread was soiled. The front desk was willing to change our room. We opted to just receive new sheets and pillow cases and change it ourselves. I gave them a 4 star because they had a good additude and was willing to accommodate us.

Humid and damp room

Room was humid and damp. Floor sticky wet. The room air conditioner could not handle the humidity outside. Had to ask for a de-humidifier in the middle of the night to make it bearable. We were offered another room but all rooms we looked at had the same issue
