Never again!

This was an overnight halfway to Panama City. We arrived at 7:45 pm. The bars were closed, the pool was closed, we waited over 20 minutes to get sodas at the snack place. It was a VERY disappointing overall experience.

I was really impressed with this hotel and casino resort. I liked how attentive the staff was and appreciated the price points on things there were quite reasonable for this level of stay.

I like that it had a lazy river, but many of the options for food and drinks was limited. In addition, the ice maker was not working on my floor. The hotel was aware of the situation, but didn't seem to care to have it fixed. We had to go to another floor to get ice.

The positive is that the hotel was clean. The pool and lazy river were sparkling. The staff was friendly and prompt. The location is convenient to The Gulf Coast activities including the quaint towns of Bay St Louis and Pass Christian as well as a short drive to Gulfport/Biloxi. However, the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke from the casino from the moment I walked in. A room refrigerator was an extra charge. I had to ask if one was available. No microwave available. The food in Bogart Bistro was barely edible--I ate a sandwich! I was told by other patrons not to even bother with the steaks in Bogart Steakhouse. Peeling paint was in the bathroom. There was carpet in the room.

So I arrived early and was greeted well by valet staff. However when I went to front desk to try and check in the lady at front desk was very rude. I knew I was early however I have done this before with many many other hotels with no issues. This lady was not willing to help and even gave a snarky look. Normally when I get to a hotel early I'm able to give my information and my phone number and they let me know when my room is available. At the same time they offer the amenities of the hotel. Frank I'm sorry message juban bill but your room is not available however if you would like we would hold your luggage for you and you could use our spa, pool area, casino or eat at one of our eateries. This lady which was about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning looked very upset to be at the front desk number one and basically said to me we don't do any of those things come back in about 3 hours and dismissed me. I was very put off by my first interaction with the hotel. So I went back to my car and then nice belly people said go here and here to eat something. So after about 3 hours I came back to the hotel walked up to the front desk again and the lady said fine give me your license and credit card and I'll check you in even though you're way too early. So once I was all checked in I went to my room The room was very clean and the housekeeping lady was actually right outside my door and offered me extra towels she was amazing. there's so much more wrong however not enough room to finish.

This was a great overnight stay! We checked in a little late but got out and grabbed dinner then hung out in the casino. We really enjoyed the room upgrade. The king suite was beautiful!
