Bidwell Vacation Packages

We came during a baseball tournament weekend and so the hotel was packed. We were given the wrong room at check in. We booked a double queen (we had 3 people) were given a room with 1 queen bed. Then when we went down to the deck they gave us a new room, went to it and there is still only one bed, but a king this time. Went back to the desk they said they had no other rooms for that night, but should for the next night. So we agreed to make do. (They compt us a breakfast.) returned to our room that evening after the games (close to midnight) only to find it 80 degrees inside. The air had gone out, there was multiple that had. They had no rooms to move us to, no fans to give us, and no hotels in the area that we could go to. Then since we booked through a 3rd party (Expedia) they wouldn’t / couldn’t refund us. We paid $170 for a night spent in the lobby and in our car with the AC on. And was just told they’d move us to a new room the next morning. Besides that nightmare, the breakfast bar was out of food the whole time, they never made enough to last longer than 5 minutes, the pool area didn’t have any towels and there was a ton of wet dirty ones all over and mountains of trash near every trash can, only saw it being taken out once the whole time we were there. Front desk staff was short and defensive about issues, while not being able to offer any support. Nightmare trip do not recommend.

It's unfortunate, because this location has the potential to be much better than it is. Honestly, my biggest complaint was just the cleanliness. The sheets on my bed head shoe prints on them. I told the person at the front desk and the manager personally came in and changed them for me. Whenever possible, I book a room with laminate flooring, because I find carpet in hotel rooms disgusting. I bring my own Swiffer mop with me and I used all four wet pads that I had with me on this floor. It was evident that the cleaning staff never mops the floor. There was also trash all over the parking lot. Cigarette butts and empty liquor bottles. A manager who takes pride in their property would take a walk around their property everyday and clean this up. Breakfast options where pretty limited, but I don't expect much when staying at a budget location. I do expect cleanliness though, no matter where I stay.
