The location of the property is great being so close to downtown. However, the lobby is redone and looks shiny and new but the rooms do not. They are not dirty, but not clean. The door will shake and make a loud noise when the outside door from the stairwell is opened. The walls are so thin, we could hear the people above us singing and conversing. And there seems to be no quiet time because people were running up and down and YELLING - even at 2am. Definitely not worth $350/night, with no housekeeping when staying two nights.

There was visible mold in the bathroom ceiling. I brought it to the managers attention. I had my grandchildren with us and should not be exposed to these conditions. Managers name was Melody, she was apologetic and stated she would credit me for the cost of the room.

High price for an average experience

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in New Buffalo with my daughter and two grandchildren while attending a wedding in the area. Overall, the hotel felt quite average, providing only the basic amenities necessary for our stay. We booked a suite to accommodate my grandchildren, who would sleep on the pull-down couch. While I was able to request additional bedding, I found the mattress to be uncomfortable and stained. The towels provided were also quite thin, but the front desk staff were very pleasant and promptly supplied us with extra towels and bedding. Considering the basic nature of the hotel, I felt the price was quite steep. For two nights, we were charged $636, and I was required to reserve both nights even though we only needed the room for one. If the cost had been half that amount, I might have viewed my experience more positively. On a brighter note, the breakfast offered a nice variety of standard options, and my grandchildren enjoyed the pool in the morning before we headed out. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. In summary, while the Holiday Inn Express met our basic needs, the high price and some discomforts made it an average experience.

I liked the convenient location. We were able to get to several beaches within 30 minutes. Nice breakfast. The hot tub wasn't working. We were looking forward to ending our day in the hot tub, but couldn't. That was a bummer for us!
