"Great location, really did feel like a mini resort"
All was well, but they had front office issues, from putting us in the wrong room the first night, then I had to pay 120.00 to upgrade to a better room, then they kept calling and telling the cleaners we were leaving after the 2nd night. On top of all that, we never got our room cleaned due to the errors.

"Nice hotel close to Acadia Park and Gardens"
The trip was great, the hotel was close to beautiful gardens and we drove around the loop on Acadia Park. Take a car, you can see more than taking a ride on a bus. Hike around the lake in the park, beautiful views. Do not forget to taste popovers at the restaurant at the lake. Drive to Bar Harbor to get a lobster dinner and stroll the path along the ocean.

"Nice, New, Clean."
The hotel is central to dining and other sometimes needed shopping necessities like pharmacies, and shopping centers. The hotel itself is nice, new, and clean. The only negative is that it is about 20 miles from bar harbor and Acadia. Which is fine if you are aware of this and plan ahead ( it is actually a pleasant drive). I heard horror stories about parking in Bar Harbor but if you get there early it is fine. (There is 2 and 3 hour parking and you will most likely get a $15 ticket but you will not be towed.) Afternoon and weekends are bad. Not to take away from the staff but training of the front desk staff should include providing information on taxi services, shuttles, and the bus system that can get you to Acadia. A smaller hotel that we were just at in Newport Rhode Island gave us numerous tips on the area and a ranged for a shuttle and gave us the lay of the land which was awesome for a newbie. We did not receive that at the Hampton. This would have been helpful since it was our first trip to the area. Again the staff was great except for the aforementioned would give Hampton ++ ratings.

"Friendly with Best Value and Quality"
It is the second time I booked this motel. Compared with other motels I stayed in this region this one has the most spacious room and cleanest (and probably most spacious) bathroom. Room is very warm even in coldest night (consider it is Maine you probably want this :) Hotel owner is very serious about your comfortness and convenience, he is also very friendly and helpful, he even puts out national flags for the stayers, it is awesome experience. It also has very good price.

"Charming hotel in the Bar Harbor area"
We stayed at Asticou while on vacation. It is an old inn and has some charms such as the fireplace and library room in the main house. Our room was in a separate location and was very comfortable except for the loud neighbors we had (very poor sound insulation). The best part about staying at Asticou was the excellent dining - we ate dinner both nights during our stay and really enjoyed the lobster rolls, mussels, chowder, popovers and wine list. Servers were kind and helpful - two of them recommended hiking trails and were very personable.

"Great hotel "
Hotel was great. We stayed in the Atlantic Ocean View building. All rooms in this building are updated and have a balcony facing the water . Pool right out front. Perfect locaton near Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. My only complaint was the bed, it was uncomfortable. I would stay here in the Atlantic Ocean View building again.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bar Harbor hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
