"Hotel is ok but I have some issues with some staff"
I was there from July 16-18. When we arrived home on the 18th late night and my wife realized that she left her watch in the hotel rm 114. I called the the hotel on the 19th and spoke to Kelly. She said she did not see any watch and she will asked the housekeeper Carol the following day because Carol was not working on that day. I gave my number to Kelly to call me back. I called on the 20th to follow up for the watch but I spoke to Lisa and Kelly was off. I explain to Lisa what happened and she said she will look for Carol and will call me back. At around 4pm on the same day, I called to follow up and spoke to Gary. Gary told me that Lisa already left and same thing with Carol. The following day on the 21st, I called to follow up and Lisa picked up the phone. Lisa said that she spoke to Carol and they did not see any watch. I was really not satisfied on how they handle this issue. Nobody called back (now I am suspecting why nobody calls me back).

"Nice hotel close to Acadia Park and Gardens"
The trip was great, the hotel was close to beautiful gardens and we drove around the loop on Acadia Park. Take a car, you can see more than taking a ride on a bus. Hike around the lake in the park, beautiful views. Do not forget to taste popovers at the restaurant at the lake. Drive to Bar Harbor to get a lobster dinner and stroll the path along the ocean.

"Friendly with Best Value and Quality"
It is the second time I booked this motel. Compared with other motels I stayed in this region this one has the most spacious room and cleanest (and probably most spacious) bathroom. Room is very warm even in coldest night (consider it is Maine you probably want this :) Hotel owner is very serious about your comfortness and convenience, he is also very friendly and helpful, he even puts out national flags for the stayers, it is awesome experience. It also has very good price.

"Newly renovated hotel"
Overall a good experience. The hotel has been completely renovated. Everything in the room was new. It was hot and the AC cooled off the room quickly. King sized bed with plenty of room and a large bathroom. Perfect for our needs.

"Charming hotel in the Bar Harbor area"
We stayed at Asticou while on vacation. It is an old inn and has some charms such as the fireplace and library room in the main house. Our room was in a separate location and was very comfortable except for the loud neighbors we had (very poor sound insulation). The best part about staying at Asticou was the excellent dining - we ate dinner both nights during our stay and really enjoyed the lobster rolls, mussels, chowder, popovers and wine list. Servers were kind and helpful - two of them recommended hiking trails and were very personable.

"Great location close to Acadia and Bar Harbor."
We were in the newer building. Room was clean and comfortable. View was marred somewhat by old industrial port of some kind, but overall the room was great. Breakfast was decent. Staff was very friendly. Grounds well kept. We would stay here again.

"Right in town"
This was our first stay, and we'll be back. Our room was very comfortable and everything was clean as could be. The beds each had three big pillows. There was plenty of counter space in the bathroom, and the shower was excellent. Towels and linens were excellent. The breakfast was just super - with eggs, sausage, toast, bacon, English muffins, cut-up fruit, excellent coffee....and more. Being right in the middle of town was great.

Bar Harbor is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bar Harbor, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bar Harbor hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
