"Amazing Wildlife and Great Resort"
I have taken two trips to Costa Rica now for a total of about a month and a half. Borinquen was easily in the top 2 places I have stayed in terms of overall experience. The staff is incredible, the grounds are beautiful, and the food was as good or better than typical Costa Rican fare I have had all over the country. I am a huge fan of eco lodges (i.e. no air conditioning and living under mosquito nets), so I was blown away by how fancy it was in this isolated resort in the middle of the foothills. As per the typical reviews, the food is expensive. Dinners will run you $19-30, lunches about $14-18. Breakfast was delicious and included. There IS food available without driving to Liberia. On the road to the resort is the small town of Canas Dulces. They have markets where you can get some foods (sandwhiches, ramen, etc.) if you don't feel like paying for the restaurant food every day. The sink water in the rooms is safe and gets hot enough to cook ramen.. We tried it. Yes - the resort is "in the middle of nowhere." The road is only partially paved and there are potholes. However, no worse than most unpaved roads in CR. There is a lot of wildlife to see on the way up! As an entomologist / wildlife biologist, I come to CR for the wildlife. There was an incredible amount here. Rare Sunbitterns, toucans, 2 species of motmots, monkeys, parrots, parakeets, armadillo, and sooo much more. There's also a huge surplus of incredible insects if you want to look for them :)

"This place is a GEM."
The Hideaway is just that, a hidden gem. The grounds and rooms are beautiful, the online photos don't do it justice. We were greeted by the super friendly staff with a cool towel and welcome drink then were taken to our gorgeous rooms. The staff told us about the trail to the river and we were off! It's an easy hike, the river is captivating and just right for a cool (not cold) swim after the long drive from Nosara. We would have loved to stay for a longer time but would not hesitate to return-book this place, you won't be disappointed.

"Good place to stay in Liberia"
I stayed here for one night while traveling through Liberia. The location was convenient when traveling by bus. Best thing about the hotel was its staff. Everyone at the reception were very friendly and helpful, they even found out about the transportation to my next destination and booked it. Customer service done right! I was also happy with the breakfast and facilities at the hotel. The gym had a nice variety of training equipment and the pool was large, although because of the vast amount of fauna at the hotel, the water wasn't completely clean. My room was nice, clean and comfortable. I would recommend staying here.

"Nice hotel close to Rincon de la Vieja NP"
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel, it looks like it is fairly newly built, and it is really clean and the landscaping is inviting! The staff is very nice, polite and helpful. The rooms in general and the beds are comfortable, despite the rooms being a bit small, they are functional with a lot of space to put your luggage. The hotel has a small pool which is a great addition, especially after a whole day's trek on the volcano nearby. The food at the hotel is quite good, and the breakfast that is included in the morning is complete with the option of having a custom made omelet prepared for you. The food at the hotel restaurant is very good! The lunch and dinner menu, however has very few options to choose from, so if you stay for a few nights, you are bound to eat the same thing twice! There are not so many options of restaurants nearby since it is a forested area and not really developed, so that aspect could be improved. Overall, it is a very pleasant

Great staff. Is a 1100 acre ranch with free tours of birds and crocodiles. Riding tour to town and around ranch. If you are looking for a beach and noise then head elsewhere. This is pure ranch land and seclusion. Great for complete relaxation! Best to know some Spanish as they speak very little english but you will get by

"Relaxing hot springs resort"
Stayed at this resort during a 2.5 week tour through Costa Rica. The staff is fantastic, friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We arrived around 0200 hours, (flight delayes) and the security guard was waiting for us at the gate with the key and another security guard met us by the room to help us in. This was prearranged but still very greateful considering we weren't supposed to arrive that late. The hot spring are a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the day. The cabanas are large and spacious. Restaurant provided us good food and the breakfast included was certainly a bonus! The property is well maintained and beautiful. Be sure to enjoy the hammock on the porch. Nice and relaxing. A couple of days here is perfect as this resort is a bit secluded and food options are limited to the resort only. Wifi is limited to the front gate or if you are lucky the restaurant but who cares, you are on vacation. We did a hike booked with the resort, shows as 3 hours, was only 1.5 hours at the most. Slightly disappointing. Otherwise awesome place to stay while visiting the beautiful country Costa Rica. Wonderful staff and a must see!

Bagaces is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bagaces, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bagaces hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
