check in procedure was very poor. Made to feel like we were inconvenience. We were party of 4 and advised a bus load was checkin in later and took priority. At checkin he said dont come for breakfast early as he needed to tend to bus load who were eating at 7-8am. When we went for breakfast it was cold and clearly a leftover situation. Manager1owner has only been in hospitality a short time and it showed. Far for the warm loving friendly Cape Breton welcome

The room was very comfortable and I was offered a choice of rooms. Manager and other staff tried to help when I broke my glasses and were consistently helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine.

Nice Lodge, but certainly could use a refresh and paint job. Rooms in the motel part look and feel old and worn out. Staff was kind and courteous. Easy to check in and out Breakfast could use some fruit for guests

Couples get away!

Clean room and friendly staff but could use some updating. The breakfast was good, more than continental.Very central location with restaurants, shops, and the bras d'or lake.

We stayed for 3 nights & the lodge did provide a continental breakfast. However , can't give the breakfast anything more than poor to average. There was no variation in the selection whatsover. Bacon was undercooked & greasy. Scrambled eggs were always cold. No fresh fruit, yogurt or muffins was provided however coffee was fresh & hot. The main lodge itself is fairly well maintained but the rooms in the Skye Lodge are in very poor condition. All the wooden furniture in the two rooms we had very very, very worn. Screen door was had a broken off kick panel, curtains were missing hooks, bathroom exhaust fan broken, no plug for bathroom sink,toilet handle constantly sticking, etc. I could go on & on but the bottom line is unless the owners put some serious money into repairs & renovations, I cannot recommend it more than a one night stay & definitely no repeat visits. The only saving grace was the location to the town of Baddeck was excellent.
