The hotel smells bad so the staff constantly sprays this air freshener around that smells like bug spray..the towels r frayed and have holes in them..my single room was very small and so was the shower..there is a big hole by the front steps that is dangerous..8 steps to get into the hotel..the breakfast was OK.

This hotel is becoming more and more basic

The room was beautiful. We even got an upgrade! The bed was the most comfortable of the whole trip. The air conditioner worked wonderfully the room. Service pizza was terrible but everything else was amazing

Clean and comfortable hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff. Great location, near museums, restaurants and the beautiful park. I would recommend and may visit again.

We stayed here for a few days and had a mixed experience. Starting with the great: the staff! Every staff member was friendly, helpful and professional. They had great suggestions for tours and sightseeing, and the front desk did their best to manage the challenges we experienced. The location is also very convenient. The short, frequent ferry to Centraal Station puts you right in the heart of Amsterdam. The not-so-good: there are signs of wear and maintenance needs. Our first room had a large crack in the standalone tub and damage to the drain cover. Our second room had a better view but also had issues. The door appeared to have been forced open previously and not properly repaired. Despite advising staff, it remained in that condition for the durationof our stay. The light above the bed kept going on and off, and the solution was to remove the bulb. The shower was also showing signs of wear. The extreme heat was another challenge. We understand this was unusual, and staff quickly provided a fan. However, keeping the blinds closed to help with the temperature defeated the purpose of having a city-view corner room. Parking is expensive and limited on-site. The recommended discounted parking is across the river near the train station, which was busy and inconvenient. Overall, our stay was OK, largely thanks to the excellent staff and location. However, given the maintenance issues, we would likely stay elsewhere on our next visit to Amsterdam.
