Staff was nice. Scott helped us out as well as the lady that works overnights. The room was simple and clean. Breakfast was good for what it was. Stayed here last year and will stay next year for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well when we visit family.

This review concerns my recent stay at the Best Western located at 31 Plaza Dr., Ashland, Kentucky, which was, without exaggeration, one of the most unacceptable and unsanitary lodging experiences I have ever encountered. I am submitting this in a factual and documented manner so that Best Western Corporate is fully aware of the conditions being allowed at this location. Before booking, I made a point to review the online ratings, which appeared reasonable. Based on that information, I expected a clean, safe, and standard-quality environment. What I actually experienced was the opposite. Upon entering the first room assigned to us, we observed cockroaches smashed on the wall and what appeared to be a clear infestation of live roaches underneath the mini fridge. This is not a minor cleanliness issue—it is a public health concern and a direct violation of expected sanitation standards for any hotel operating under a major franchise name. Additionally, the beds in the room were set extremely low to the ground, giving the appearance of makeshift or improperly maintained furniture, raising concerns about structural integrity and guest safety. Due to these conditions, we immediately requested a room change. We were reassigned to a room on the second floor, which presented its own serious issues. The entire floor had a strong and pervasive odor resembling sewage, making it impossible to feel comfortable or confident in the sanitary condition of the environment.

The room was very dirty. Wrappers from previous guests, dirt, dust, and hair in the floor. There was a hole over the shower that could’ve been a camera. There was hair in the shower. The beds appeared clean and were comfortable.
