Perfectly placed hotel, walking distance of the main squares.
Staff helpful and polite.
Breakfast a bit pricey at 16 euros.
We ate in the restaurant which wasn't too busy but it was a Thursday night.
At 19 euros for 2 courses it was reasonably priced
Wine on the middle/expensive side.
A great stay and not enough time to see everything we wanted to..

Hotel very hard to find but once there were happy with it. A little noisy in the evening being close to a road but later it was quieter. this is definitely a hotel for one night. Very clean and neat with large bed and excellent bathroom. Restaurant was very good and the prices fair. Staff very welcoming but not intrusive. I would stay again if in the area.

Just stayed the night, but the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not included, and seemed expensive, so we used the cafe in the railway station across the square.
No car parking, so we paid to park in the square - free from 6pm until 9am, but duration of stay is meant to be for only two hours...

We stayed at the Balladins, Arras whilst following the Tour de France. This is definitely a budget hotel but not as bad as previous reviews would lead you to believe. It is very easy to find from the main AutoRoute, with plenty of free, secure parking. We ate dinner in the hotel - mainly because the weather was atrocious and we didn't want to get a taxi into the town. The meal was fine, freshly prepared and reasonable value for money. The house wine was very good and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast the next morning was good value, plenty of choice and a reasonable price for a French hotel. The rooms need updating but everything was clean, plenty of towels and fresh linen on the bed. This would not be our first choice of hotel but certainly acceptable for a one night stopover.

The room was ok. Small , but worked for one night stay. Clean and comfortable big double bed and a nice single bed separated by a wall. Perfect for us , a couple travelling with our 10 y old son. No hair dryer. The parking was free. Not in the city centre , but not a problem for us. We went by car. The only thing I have to complain is about the Reception guy. He came to assist us because we couldn't do the check in with the machine in not a good mood. My reservation included breakfast , and he said that was no possible and for sure a mistake of Expedia. He insisted in that we had to pay for it separately , but after saying a couple of times that it was not our fault, he agreed with not a happy face in not paying extra money for breakfast. By the way it was basic but fare for the budget of the hotel

Exceptional staff who waited for us as we were late for check in. Lovely view from our window of the Place d'Heroes. Still hard to manoeuver the flights of circular stairs with luggage so be prepared. Rooms are small but clean and the bed made for a restful sleep. I would return.

Arras is justifiably famous for its two stunning town squares. These opulent spaces speak of Arras's history as a major trading center: the town hall is a fine example of 16th century Flemish gothic architecture. La Place des Héros has a bustling Christmas market and the citadel plays host to the Main Square music festival every summer. Many visitors come to pay their respects at the Vimy Memorial.
