Great location, in the heart of Arles (2 mins away from the amphitheater). Hotel is inside the city walls, so hard to drive in. We parked at a public parking 11 minutes walk away from the hotel. Unit was pretty nice, although very small and with very little space. Second bedroom was on a second floor where AC was located for the entire unit. Overall, had a great experience.
It's impossible to drive into center of town to drop off luggage. The instructions were not clear and google maps are completely wrong. It takes a lot of patience, but once in, the place is fantastic.
This charming, renovated hotel is perfectly located to explore everything in Arles. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful.
I highly recommend this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Muette, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for visiting Arles, the room was lovely and cool during the heatwave, and the bed was really comfortable. Overall we had a magical time and would love to go back!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The Air conditioning was not working. Had to get a fan, and they only offered a free breakfast for one day to compensate. Apparently they had an electrical issue in several rooms.
The air conditioner took a little manipulation (put the fan on manual in lieu of auto) but once you figure that out, it cooled the room significantly. It has been hot outside. 90+ degrees Fahrenheit. So that was important. The staff spoke good English. The beds were perfectly firm - I have a bad back, so this too is important. Most American hotels have super soft beds that are terrible for your back. And the hotel location was perfect for walking anywhere in the old city.
This hotel is located in the historic area of town and walking distance to all of the main tourist sites and museums. Our triple room was on the main floor next to the front desk so we did hear some noise. Our room was rather dark and cavelike, however there is nowhere else to sit in the hotel except the outside patio. The inside sitting area is strictly for the hotel coffee bar. There is no parking, except two spaces, so the alternative is a parking garage on the edge of the historic area about a fifteen minute walk. The price was about thirty dollars per day. The staff were very sweet and helpful which made our stay enjoyable.
The Hotel was central to everything with only a few minutes walk either way to the attractions. The only downside was the size of the room, it was very cosy. The bathroom was tiny too and you had to open the sliding door to dry yourself properly.
The hotel was well-located within the old part of Arles. It was a short walk to the Rhone River and the beautiful walkway along the river, all kinds of dining options, the amazing Roman ruins, and the tourism information office (whose staff were also extremely helpful). After we had shopped at the huge Saturday market - also easy to walk to - we brought our goodies back to La Muette and the staff supplied us with plates, knives and forks to enjoy our lunch on their patio. The only minor drawback was our small room which had minimal storage space for clothes. However, we noticed that there is variability in room size which are probably dependent on location inside the heritage building. That said, I would return to this hotel again because of the friendly and thoughtful staff.
