Rooms rundown, but breakfast has good views

Room has no lakefront views, room condition including carpet , bathroom and air conditioning unit looked very run down, no slippers in the room. Breakfast place is the nice area with views of the lake and sea planes , if you want that I’d suggest going there for breakfast but staying elsewhere

The property was located just next to the lake. We liked the stay, the only issue we had was that the front desk and the shuttle drivers were very rude. Worst customer experience with regard to the front desk and the drivers. They were literally yelling at us for no reason. If you ask them a question, they would be so rude in their answers.

This was our third time staying. The first two time the rooms and staff were nice. This time the room was on the first floor, as far away from the front desk as possible. The room had a very musty smell and the mattresses seemed old and in need of replacement. The best part is the size of the room. They also use nice linens. We had plenty of space to repack our bags for the trip home after 2 weeks in Alaska. To find the room we had to navigate past a very nice man using a wet vac in the hallway ( not sure if there was a water issue or if he was cleaning the grubby carpet). A very grumpy lady was at the front desk in the morning when I asked if they sold asprin. (they do not sell any sundries.) No one at the front desk could tell us if the hotel shuttle would pick us up at the rental car drop off, which was right down the road. (we finally found a shuttle driver & asked directly. He did pick us up.). The location of the hotel is amazing. It’s super close to the airport and downtown. From the front you feel like you’re in the city. Be as Ute to go out back. You feel like you’re in the middle of the woods. It’s an amazing lake view. The front desk should mention that when people check in.

We were staying overnight for one night. Very close to airport. Very convenient to call and have shuttle pickup from Anchorage airport (under 10 min). Everything was fine. Room while functional was a little dated in decor, but otherwise no problems encountered. Our flight arrived at 9:30pm, and by the time we got to the hotel, all the restaurants stopped serving food.

I am usually pleased with my stay at the Lakefront. The property is clean and the food is good. This time I arrived after 12 hours of flight time. I just wanted to rest and watch tv. The tv and remote would not work. I called the front desk, and maintenance came. They couldn't get it to work either. Not the best of stays!

Recommended hotel, pet friendly.

Ive stayed at the Lakefront numerous times. As with all Anchorage hotels during the summer months, it is pricey. However, it is reasonably priced in the wintertime. The staff always accommodates my request for a room close to lobby to make it easier for me due to limited mobility. Also, I always travel with my dog. There is a pet fee but I like having a nice place to walk him. For those of you that travel with your dog, please always be courteous of others. Always keep your dog under control and pick up after your dog.
