The room was very small and crowded and the bathroom felt dangerous - the tub/shower was all slick tile, with nothing to grab onto if starting to fall. I had to ask for a rubber shower mat but even with that it felt like taking my life in my hands to use the shower.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe at this property. I did not use the laundry facility, but would have been comfortable doing that if I needed it. It was well lit and there was always parking close to the door. I felt that it was very clean even for being a little dated. It was very clean and neat.

We chose the La Quinta near the Anchorage Airport for its convenience, and in that regard, it delivered. The free and easy parking was a definite benefit, and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. ​Unfortunately, our stay was let down by the room itself. It was dated and didn't reflect the modern feel we saw in the online photos. The most significant issue was a strong, lingering odor—a mix of moisture and old smoke—that was present for all four nights. We were also disappointed to find the carpet full of what looked like dog hair when we first checked in. While the staff did clean it promptly after we reported it, it's not something we should have had to deal with upon arrival. The bathroom was an old-style tub/shower combo, which also showed its age. At over $200 per night, we felt the room's condition and cleanliness were not up to par.

Average Service

First I was charged double by the hotels website because I simply tried to fix the incorrect date on the booking, it was nearly impossible to find out how to get someone on the phone to help me. The hotel offers an airport shuttle and when I landed at the Ryan Air Airport they wouldn’t offer me a ride and asked me where it was. I asked for a late checkout and had to pay $50 which is excessive compared to other hotel stays. Comfortable room but I was not overly happy with the ride and charge for a late checkout considering I had to pay for transportation from the airport when the reason I booked was the complimentary shuttle.
