Although the staff was friendly, our room was not one we would stay in again. While the overall facility was clean, our room had strange little bugs found in the bathroom and twice in the bed. Not sure what kind, as we checked for bed bugs and that was not the case. I did leave with some little bites though, so not the best experience. Upon arrival the storage compartment for luggage under the bed would not open, and the staff could not find the key or figure out how to open it for us. In an already small room, this made the living quarters even more tight. They did offer to continue to store our luggage, but we would have to keep asking for it whenever we would need to access something, and this did not seem very realistic for a trip where we are in an out exploring and needing to access our luggage somewhat frequently. I will say that multiple staff members were very pleasant and kind, and it’s unfortunate at the few issues with our room. Probably would not stay here again.

A good stay at this hotel. The room itself (the bookshelf) was nice, spacious and comfortable. The shared bathroom was okay, it was mostly clean but clearly depends on who used it last. The staff were very friendly however most times there was no one on reception and when clicking the button for attention no one arrived. It made the experience a little poorer.

Hotel Not Hotel was a super cool experience - we stayed in one of the bookshelf rooms. Takes a bit to get used to the limited space - but very doable! The vibe of the whole place is incredible - very chill, but LOTS to look at. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and provided some great food recommendations for us to check out (Foodhallen - where we also received recommendations from folks working there!). It was quite hot - however - we knew that going in, and doorstops are available so you can prop your shelf/door open and hang out in some of the comfy chairs in the shared area while the fan does the work and cools off the room

It’s a wonderful place to stay, as the name says hotel, not hotel. That’s what makes it very unique. I have stayed in a similar place before few times around the world. But what make this place unique is the member who works there? Specially, this new manager, Tamara, she’s absolutely very, very kind person. The moment I have arrived, she had my room key ready for me. The check-in process was only a few minutes and very nicely. She explained to me about the entire facility. When I walk into my room, I see this beautiful welcoming handwriting by them sitting on the bed. It made me very happy. So I highly recommend this place.!!!

Watch the tramcar please

The Hotel not hotel is a very unique experience for stays in a great neighborhood in Amsterdam. The hosts were all very nice and helpful. They even offer an option to check in early for a small fee which was great because I was very jetlagged after I landed. I stayed in the Tramcar and the room was so charming. It stayed pretty cool too. Just be mindful of the curtains as it's all windows. It is more like a hostel as the tramcar does not have a bathroom but it's situated right next to the main shared bathroom that is well kept. Would definitely stay here again for a short visit!
