I spent 5 nights at the Hampton by Hilton hotel, the hotel location is good with plenty of shop, supermarkets and restaurants. Train station is just beside the hotel. Room is basic and ran down with no fridge, mattresses was hard and pillow was flat. Toilet and cabinet share a common door with a big gap, it is not convenient when we were travelling with my daughter. The downsides are: Buffet breakfast was simple and limited choices. Buffet corner was small and crowded with table set up side by side with limited space in between, the service staffs were hardworking and dashing around to top up food and clearing tables. The feeling was like eating in a stadium’s food corner. Poor house keeping with no standard procedures to upkeep the room. We had a problem of towel shortage, conditional and tissue ran out and not topping up. Call to front desk was engage every night, we had to collect the missing items from the storage at lobby because the front desk staffs were busy and multi tasked to operate the lobby bar. During my Europe trip, I Stayed Marriott in London, Pullman in Brussels and Hampton by Hilton in Amsterdam. Hampton ended up is the most costly among the 3 hotels, overall is also the worst hotel.

They did not have any red wine for 3 days. I also asked for a large beer and they did not have any large glasses, yet 20 mins later they were serving beer in large glasses!! The hotel is very near to the Ajax football stadium so we ensured that they were not playing while we were there. It’s very convenient for a metro in and out of town.

The hotel is located near the train station and very convenient. The staff is friendly. They offer you free drinks if you don't need room service. The breakfast has lots of choices but everyday is the same.the only complain is the sofabed is very uncomfortable.
