Old, renovated motel. The owners are doing a good job upgrading. The carpet in the hallways needs to be replaced. That was a bit of a trip hazard, But, otherwise, a clean unique property. Would have liked for all the activities in the atrium to have been allowed a little later, but that's not that big of a deal. Would stay again.

The hotel impressed us. The only problem was that the rug in the room and the bathroom in our room left a lot to be desired. They were both damp and tacky. Not tacky like ugly tacky like sticky. The lobby and play areas and pool looked very nice. We were told the temp of the pool was around 80 degrees. We didn’t go in it though. The restaurant/bar that is attached to hotel was very nice as well. I see they’re doing some renovations. I would suggest removing the rugs though.

Well I had issues getting the room due to I was paying card said it wasn’t going through so I pay cash but not able to receive a receipt. All that time I was there plus service in front desk was poor and terrible.

The Cactus Cove Inn is now my go-to when staying in Amarillo for business and pleasure. The slide between floors took me right back to being a kid when my dad would find unique, locally owned inns and motels like the Cactus Cove. The family-oriented nature of the Cactus Cove is very refreshing, especially to an avid traveler such as myself. The staff is welcoming and made me feel at home, and the Westerner restaurant attached to the Inn has delicious food and amazing staff. Thank you for giving me a home away from home and taking the edge off of being away from my own family when traveling for work.

The rooms on the property look nothing as advertised. They’re old, dark, and lacking significantly on amenities. My room didn’t even have toilet paper on the roll. But an empty one. There was a wedding and children’s party going on in the common area in the middle of all the rooms. There was no warning or accommodation for this. I was placed directly in front of the children’s party, which was still going on at 830pm. I explained to the desk I had been traveling for days and would like a quieter room. I was then moved to a somehow, worse room that was directly in front of the weddings DJ booth. After walking to the new room and back to the front desk 3 times, the on-site manager? Came running over with a laugh about how I was moved to this room… and then another laugh about how the codes don’t work. At this point I requested some compensation and was told “of course” - which was never followed through on. I tried to follow up on this myself when I went to checkout the next morning, but there was no one at the desk… either of the two times I went. In all - I can’t believe the lack of customer service and amenities, given what they are charging a night for this place. Extremely disappointing.

My sibling and I were involved in an accident earlier in the day so my mom was able to get us a room here. It was such a great stay for what we had to go through. The front desk woman was so kind to us after I had explained what happened. Would absolutely stay here again!

nothing like the pictures. The staff was kind when we checked in, however we immediately noticed that the hotel was much more worn than advertised. An area of the hotel that appeared to be under construction with glass removed from the doors and windows and covered with craft paper, some with holes seemingly punched into them. We checked into our room and there was immediately a bad smell. The items in the room were very worn, including puncture holes in the lampshade. The room was hot despite the AC on the lowest setting. The old thermostat in the room was partially broken off the wall. There was mold in the shower/tub and multiple areas of the room where the paint was chipping or the wall was literally peeling away from itself. Also, there were hairs in the bed and there was no internal safety lock on the door. We tried to stay but made the decision that we did not feel comfortable staying due to the quality of the room. We packed our things and went to the front desk. They were very nice and apologized and told us that was one of their more worn rooms that they don’t like booking people in and they would approve a full refund. When Expedia reached out they said they would only honor 50% refund because upon inspection the room was in good condition and the only issue was the odor. This was a bait & switch due to them admitting the quality of the room and then changing their statement after to avoid refunding. I took photos the quality does not match advertised photos.

The first room they gave me was filthy. We asked for another room amd they said they were booked. When we decided to leave and try to get a refjnd they suddenly had a diffwrent room availible. The second room was much cleaner. The staff was nicefor the most part. I am sure when thia property is done it will be really nice but they are still working on it and I feel I overpaid for the night we were there. I don't know that we will stay there again.

This is my second time staying at the Cactus Cove. I splurged on the upgraded room this time and really enjoyed it. It’s an older property with a little bit of charm, but lots of fun details that make it my go-to hotel in Amarillo. I love the fun features in the lobby and atrium (pool, meeting area, fountain, mini golf, games, shopping). The restaurant and bar were also great. The murals and artwork outside are also really unique. Can’t wait to stay again!

Everything is under renovation and none of it complete. Everything shows the age of the hotel. This place once enjoyed an extraordinary reputation; not so much today. Zero USB ports and zero extra electrical outlets. We were told by the front desk that the lack of outlets was due to a fire hazard identified by the local fire department. Seriously out of date.

The property has plenty of activities. Swimming, pickle ball, corn hole and a bar/restaurant on site. The rooms are perfect for an overnight stay at very reasonable prices. The property is a little outdated but the rooms are clean
