Lighting was just right to see box spring matresses that had dog urine on the corners first thing. Room 222. Lady at the front desk was very helpful and apologetic. We were "upgraded" to a renovated room. The mattresses were better. Didnt see urine stains this time. Room was still old, and the bedspreads were tired and had snags throughout. The heater/air conditioner had a high pitched wine that made it difficult to sleep. Rooms get a 1. Staff gets a 5. Steakhouse was great. We will eat here again, but we will definitely not stay at the hotel. Walk 50 more steps and stay at one of the other hotels. You wont regret it.

The property was worn and rundown looking. The inside of the room door was covered in graffiti, which actually seemed to be encouraged by the hotel.

The Texan was a joke!!!!!!!! Run down……there was no land line in the room anywhere. There was no employee or company representative on the hotel grounds over night!!!!! None. Unable to get clean or fresh towels during the night

The Big Texan hotel is cheap for a reason

The toilet ran continuously so I had to turn off the valve to not hear it run all night. Also, the water was so high in toilet bowl it hit my testicals, which is a bit unnerving. Being next to the horse hotel brought some rather unpleasant smells. The state of the rooms and property were fairly dilapidated. The one bright spot was the shower- which had excellent pressure & flow.

Comfortable stay for the purpose of needing a room

Stayed one night in a standard two bed room. This room is not one of the updated, remodeled room, but the room suited the purpose of staying the night for traveling through town. Will stay there again if the need arises.

Great pitstop on drive. Crowded on a Friday night but got a seat at the bar. Close to a Buc-ees and easy on/off highway.

A fun way to experience the Big Texas Steak Ranch. The motel room was decorated great in a Western theme, and well equipped. Enjoyed walking around the property and best of all dinner at the Big Texas Steak Ranch.

This is a pretty dang cool experience. Bring a marker and enjoy the restaurant across the way. Bonus: if you get a beer at the Big Texan restaurant- they are ok with you taking it to go if you stay at the hotel. P.s. the big Texan restaurant has amazing food and was pretty dang cool from my experience

Traveling through on a cross country trip, we couldn’t resist staying at the Big Texan. Mary, at reception, was incredibly friendly & helpful during check-in. The room was a bit dated but after many days of camping, the bed felt comfortable & the shower was hot! We also enjoyed the restaurant on the property.
