"Very Clean and Modern Rooms"
Stayed here 6 nights in mid May 2017, and what we got for the Rate was exceptional. Booked the hotel and was pleasantly surprised when we got there. Check in was over the phone since we arrived late evening but it was a breeze. The Hotel is only a couple months old and is very modern with all the amenities. It had a full little kitchen with dishware, oven, stove, microwave and even a little dishwasher. They give you a container with coffee grounds, sugar and cream for the morning caffeine needs. Bed was comfortable and the shower was so great with over sized shower head. Its less than 5 minute walk from the main tourist shopping street Laugarvegur and about a 15-20 minute walk from Hallgrimskirkja Church in Downtown Reykjavik. I am so pleased with this Hotel that I plan to book it again next time I go back to my homeland. You will not be disappointing to stay here. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

"Comfortable hotel, very close everything"
Exceptionally helpful and informative lobby staff. The hotel is a very quick walk from the old city and the major tourist centre in Reykjavik and also to the docks and the Harpa Centre. If you're a photographer the windows, mirrors, lines and reflections in the Harpa Centre can keep you busy for hours. The walkway along the shore leading to the Harpa Centre was interesting with hundreds of inukshuks built from the volcanic stone along the path. Back to the hotel...the breakfast buffet was hearty with pickled herring, excellent salami, ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, assorted breads, jams, yogourt, pastries, one of which was like an energy bar. Apple, orange juice, coffee and assorted teas rounded out the breakfast offering.

"Nice hotel in good location "
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Room was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Very clean. Breakfast buffet was excellent. We had breakfast and didn't need to eat again until dinner time. This was a big plus as food is very expensive (approx $70 Cdn for a couple of burgers, fries, and a beer). Bathroom has heated floors and heated towel rack. Front desk staff were very professional and helpful. No complaints at all about this hotel. It is close to downtown - just a nice walk.

"Excellent central location"
The only criticism of this hotel is that on a Saturday night rooms at the front are noisy, and the noise went on all night. It is in a narrow one way street, and any loud talking or laughing echos around - there were no large gangs whooping and yelling, but even loud talk was disturbing. It is a great advantage to have cooking facilities as Iceland is very expensive. We could do our own breakfasts, thanks to the best bakery in Reykjavik being opposite and a Budget supermarket being only 200m down the road.

Akranes is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Akranes, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Akranes hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
