We had a wonderful stay at the alpenlodge. The room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast and service was also excellent. The whole lodge was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again

Perfect stay

This hotel is amazing. The communication from start to finish was outstanding. The family room was comfortable and spacious for 4 adults. The service felt personal from the reception team who were so helpful. The breakfast was delicious, buffet style with fresh eggs to order. The location of the hotel is on the hill, but you can opt for a taxi if you choose. The views are just perfection!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alpenlodge. Not only is the hotel absolutely beautiful with stunning panoramic views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks, but the people are what truly make this place unforgettable. During my stay, I was traveling with a friend and, unfortunately, we weren’t getting along. It was an emotionally difficult situation to be in during a trip I had been looking forward to. When I spoke with Virginia at the front desk, she showed me such kindness, empathy, and professionalism that I instantly felt supported and reassured. She went out of her way to help me — arranging for an incredible room that gave me the space and peace I needed, with breathtaking views that felt like therapy in themselves. The room was cozy, quiet, and beautifully appointed — every detail was thoughtful and the view of the mountains from the balcony was absolutely spectacular. It gave me the clarity and calm I truly needed. Breakfast each morning was also such a treat — fresh, beautifully prepared, and served with care. Enjoying a peaceful meal while soaking in the views became one of my favorite parts of the day. Every single person I encountered at Alpenlodge was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. But Virginia stood out for how she helped me through a tough moment with such compassion — I’ll always be grateful to her. If you're looking for a stay in Zermatt that combines incredible views, comfort, and heart— Alpenlodge is the place.

We had an excellent stay at Alpenlodge! The room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. Waking up to a clear view of the Matterhorn was a highlight of our trip. The breakfast was lovely, with healthy and delicious options to start the day right. What truly made our stay memorable were the owners — incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. They shared great local tips about Zermatt and even assisted with booking local taxis whenever we needed. Highly recommend Alpenlodge for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and warm experience in Zermatt!

Sorry for taking so long to post a review. I was staying here when Zermatt experienced the late season heavy snow, power outage l, and rail suspension in April 2025. It was a very unpleasant experience for the village, but I can say the staff at Alpenlodge went above and beyond. They had great compassion, professionalism, and empathy for all guests during this time. The only reason I’m leaving the review is because their extraordinary efforts during that time deserve commendation. Please keep in mind they also were trapped and without power in their private lives as they also reside in Zermatt. They kept the facility open as best able; updated the guests with recovery assistance news, and kept the facility accommodating. Aside from the problem; they operated with excellence in their normal operation. Very helpful with advice (esp hiking trails!) and where to eat or explore. I’d recommend alpenlodge to anyone wanting to stay in zermatt and not be in the overly crowded downtown corridor. Their spa facilities were a welcome retreat, and the hotel had great views. Again, my sincerely gratitude to the entire staff who assisted us for our stay. Thank you!

Great host. Very friendly. Rooms adequate. Some of the best views of Matterhorn from a guestlodge Price is according to this. Room would be a regular 3 star room. Would advise the cheese fondue for dinner. Breakfast spread very Swiss and delicious.
