A very disappointing stay and well below the standard I would expect from a Hampton by Hilton. The hotel is advertised as non-smoking, yet our room absolutely stank of menthol cigarettes. Even more bizarrely, there were used ashtrays sitting on each floor, which makes the “non-smoking” claim feel fairly meaningless. The bedding also did not feel as though fresh sheets had been put on the bed before our arrival, which was extremely unpleasant. The bathroom design offers virtually no privacy, with see-through glass doors to both the toilet and the shower. You can see into the bathroom via mirror from the main room too. This may be fine for some travellers, but it is something guests should definitely be aware of before booking. The advertised “free minibar” was also laughable: one Coke and one Sprite. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained, uncomfortable and nowhere near the quality we expected. After staying in several hotels during our trip through China, this was easily one of the most disappointing. Very below average and I would not stay here again.

The most wonderful hotel in the most stunning setting. It was like a postcard. On top of that, it has the nicest staff of anywhere I have ever stayed. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can possibly be. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again. It was a dream! Incredible breakfast too! AND they have a dog and cats on the premises, who are wonderfully taken care of.
