I have lost count of how many times I have stayed at the Beach Grove. The great attraction for me is Boundary Bay Regional Park, just across the road. It’s a unique ecosystem. There’s Centennial Beach and the vast bay. At low tide, you can walk 2-3 km out into the bay. The motel is clean and quiet, in a really safe area. The staff always friendly and helpful. I’ll be back next summer, if not sooner.

While dated ( which we expected,) our room was clean with a new bathroom. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I was even allowed to use their laundry so we didn't have to venture further into the city after a long day's travel.

I arrived at 7:30 pm and had a 8 am ferry booked so I only needed the room for 10 hours but I just couldn’t stay once I saw the mouse traps and all the black mold. The room I received should never have been rented out. From the mouse traps, black mold under the kitchen sink,the bathtub and shower were so dirty we’d already decided we wouldn’t touch those. ALL of the walls, doors etc were covered in dirt, food and other various disgusting things, there was a leak in the ceiling about 2 feet around, dead skeletal bees and other bugs on the window sills. I showed the pictures to the lady at the front desk and asked her if she would stay there and she didn’t answer. I highly recommend you protect your health and stay clear of this place. One star was too much.
