"Central location good value for money"
Great little hotel, nice and clean in a wonderful location in Tsukuba. It's just across a lovely park, a stroll away from Dayz Town which has a grocery and a 100-yen store. Also a good place to hang out in after hours. Recommend the chicken skewer place (yakitori) decorated in retro chic at the corner, and the bars and restos at the basement floor. Ask the receptionist for directions to AOI Ramen, voted 3rd best miso/tonkotsu ramen in Japan which is a five minute walk away. It's a culinary experience!

"Very quite hotel, convenient location"
The hotel has three separate parts: the Main hotel, a connected Annex, and Epochal, which is a 10-min walk along a paved, wide pedestrian walkway. This was not apparent when making the reservations.

"a bedroom hotel serving Narita Airport"
This is one of many hotel serving the Narita stopover and transfer community. Transport to and fro was excellent, hotel staff eager to please. The hotel is past it heyday but retains some charm from the past. The breakfast was extensive and pleasing to the palate. the room and bath were comfortable but not lavish. I love the Japanese clean you behind tiolets, and most toilet item were there for your to take/use. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying a night or two between flights.

"Good airport stopover"
This hotel is about 25 minutes from the airport in the free shuttlebus, although as the crow flies it's quite close. While the rooms are not quite up to the standard of Radisson hotels in Europe, it's clean, comfortable, and good value. We were presented with a series of vouchers at check in which gave us 15% off the restaurant bill (a la carte only, not the buffet) and a free drink each. The restaurant itself is excellent - a large selection of good food, good service and reasonably priced even before the discount. This is just as well as there are few other options within walking distance. There are also a lot of deals available on certain nights, although many of these are specific to flight crews - it seems this is a favourite crew hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a stopover before or after a flight.

"Wish we stayed longer"
We flew into Narita and stayed one night at Excel, we arrived around 7 pm and left early in the morning so unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy the facilities in the hotel. We enjoyed the hotel room although it was a bit retro. The room was a nice size and there were English stations on the tv. There was a free bus that ran between the hotel from the airport and the staff were very helpful at explaining how to use this. The staff spoke decent English and the hotel was very large.

Loved the location - convenient to airport by taxi, subway, and hotel shuttle service. We opted for Taxi. Evening walk discovered wonderful Buddhist Temple Complex, which in late afternoon - early evening provide perfect atmosphere. The crowds were gone. Subway system in Japan is incredible. You can go anywhere quickly. U-tube instructions are helpful, but overwhelm. It's actually much easier than thought it would be.

"A perfect introduction to Japanese tradition!"
We had a wonderful time! From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, the staff are so helpful & kind, especially with explaining everything that is new to us (which was pretty much everything!). The food experience is fantastic. The building has been well maintained regardless of its age, it is comfortable. The location is incredible- Narita is a lovely place & the temple/gardens are stunning, one of the best & oldest we experienced. It was our last night, so its proximity to the airport was also fantastic for us. Highly recommended for a great experience!

Tsukuba is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Tsukuba, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Tsukuba hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
