"Small comfortable hotel"
Small, charming hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. Our room was on the small side but it was very clean and the size was adequate. The bathroom was lovely. The location cannot be beat! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Close to Vatican"
3rd time staying here. Location is within walking distance to Vatican City. They do support a lot of tour groups/buses so the lobby area always seem busy with groups of people. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Recommend a balcony room to see the Vatican Dome.

"Nice hotel near the Vatican"
The staff was wonderful and very helpful and friendly. It was very comfortable and clean and had good air conditioning (very hot in Rome). Only complaint, not really a breakfast offered, just a couple of muffins in your room each day.

"Great location, quiet street, near main landmarks "
My flight was delayed and Federico called me to make sure my arrival was easy. The hotel is more like a pension, no hotel sign in the street but it is there and Federico greeted me with kindness and efficiency upon my arrival. The room was quiet and clean. The location is wonderful, walking distance to the main landmarks (and shopping if needed). I only used the public transportation from and to the airport. I would happily stay there again. Thanks again to the friendly and discreet staff.

"Lovely Hotel in an ideal location for tourists."
This was a lovely little hotel, with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The location meant you were not too close to all the nightlife, but only a 15minute walk from the Vatican. It was clean, breakfast was fantastic and had everything you needed to be comfortable for a night before another busy day of tourism. If I had to complain about anything, it was that we paid extra for a Vatican view from our room but this did not live up to our expectations. To see the Vatican we had to go out on to the balcony and look to our right, from there you could just about see the top of St Peter's Basillica. Also, the TV (which to be fair was a complimentary feature), was only available in Italian and unfortunately the English subtitles didn't work so we couldn't watch TV at all whilst staying. This is minor though given we spent so much time touring round and enjoying Rome. These issues aside though, I would not have any problem pointing people to this Hotel for staying at and I would use them again happily, I just wouldn't bother paying extra for the view.

Hotel Dei Mellini

Via Muzio Clementi 81, Rome - Map
"Well located hotel in safe residential area "
Staff and facilities at the hotel were excellent. The hotel was spotless and the buffet breakfast was very good with good quality fresh pastries , cake and bread as well as a range of fresh fruit and the usual items. I cannot comment on the cooked breakfast but others seemed to be enjoying it. Freshly made Italian cappuccino, espresso etc was offered as well as American style coffee which was also drinkable. The hotel has a small bar with a wide range of drinks and some wine. Many guests including myself took advantage of this. there was also a separate lounge area as well as a top floor solarium and range of seating for relaxing in the sun. The hotel is within walking distance of St Peter's and Vatican City and less than 5 minutes from Piazza Cavour . Bridges across the Tiber to the old part of town are 5 minutes away and there is a range of nearby restaurants, gelateria and shops. The hotel is in a relatively quiet residential area which appears quite safe . A little walking to the sights is needed but you wont be disturbed by traffic, late night revellers, street music etc. I'd stay again.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
