A period property right in the heart of medieval Tallinn. An excellent location. Staff are wonderful, happy to cater for all your needs (even organising a vegan menu for an evening meal). The rooms are perfect, ours had a view over the town, the beds are huge and there is plenty of room for all our things. This time we didn’t use the spa but on the last trip (in January) I had a massage which loosened up the muscles which were tight from all the walking! We plan on coming back again as the hotel provides everything we need, in a great location, and with attentive, polite and friendly staff

Fabulous hotel in Tallinn Old Town

The Hotel Telegraaf is in the perfect location in Tallinn Old Town. But more important than location, all the staff, from the moment we entered the hotel and received a warm reception at the Front Desk, were helpful, courteous, and did their utmost to ensure we had a pleasant stay. This hotel is first class in every respect, and I warmly recommend it!

Definitely not a 5-star hotel! Good location, nicely decorated room, a little bit worn out furniture, a few spots on bed sheets but I can tolerate that. What really killing this hotel is staff! Very snobby staff, looking down on customers! I was staying in this hotel with my father. After checking in we had to come back to reception because our key didn't work. On the way out from reception, I heard very young receptionist with name Karl was making jokes calling me and my father gay couple. Ok. I and my father laugh on that, but if you think- first of all this is not a behavior of 5-star hotel staff, second for real gay couple that would be an action of hate! So, I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you like to sleep in bed with spots on sheets, scratches on furniture and gossips of staff behind your back.

Beautiful building and rooms let down by service

On arrival we were impressed by the condition and comfort of the hotel. Unfortunately this quickly changed to discomfort. The room was 22 degrees which is too warm for my partner and I to sleep in. The air con allowed to drop to 18 degrees so we thought all good and set the temp to 19. The room failed to cool. This was reported to reception repeatedly on the second report we were told their engineer won't be back until Monday (2 days later) and to open the windows. When open this allowed lots of noise from noisy birds to staff pushing carts on cobbles and putting glass into a bin, waking us repeatedly each night. The beds were comfy with nice linen. Just a shame the room was too warm without the windows open then the noise. There was no offer to move us room or apologies for the problem. The spa has very limited loungers, only 7, with staff hit and miss as to how quickly the towels were changed to make them useable by others. The pool was nice to relax in with a small hot tub only big enough for two. There is a steam room and sauna. We had breakfast once. It is Buffett with a small selection of cooked to order eggs. Although staff highlighted this option no one ever came over or made themselves available to place an order. The only fresh fruit is whole apples. On check out the issue with sleep was raised and they waived the bar bill for the four nights which was €100, less than 10% refused manager to come and speak to resolve.
