This is a peaceful haven that is 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Even though this very large property was fully booked, it was quiet and we slept well in the very comfortable/clean room. Amazing breakfast buffet with attentive staff-- definitely pay ahead of time when you are booking a room to get a discount. There's also a nice cafe with coffee, drinks, food and snacks if you need a breakfast sandwich to go. All of the staff was cheerful and friendly, even the guys repainting a conference room went out of their way to say hello with big smiles! All of the facilities were in great condition, very clean and updated/stylish, with many small touches that made our stay easier and more comfortable. Terrific value in every way (especially since parking is free), and we will be returning. We highly recommend this hotel!

It was just ok. Maybe Pittsburgh needs to get a Ritz or Four Seasons.

Very close to downtown and an easy walk to the sports arenas. Quiet at the weekends. Good breakfast available at the restaurant. Roof top patio was great for a warm summer night gathering

The single improvement that I recommend is to provide smart TV’s with steaming capability. The front desk staff is outstanding.

I didn't have any major problems with my room I couldn't solve by going to speak to the front desk. But items such as: Not having a refrigerator, telephone not working were bit of an annoyance since those are some amenities that "should" be prepared upon check in. Whether or not "remodeling" was part of the problem ( as what I was told ), I just felt my room was a little unprepared, but nothing I couldn't work with. Overall, I'd give my experience about a 7/10.

The hotel was in a perfect location for walking to the PNC Park

The property is nice, but very noisy. The air conditioning sounds like a vacuum cleaner, we were on the 7th floor and could hear the cars outside. Some idiot was in the hall at 4am sitting on the bench near the elevator banging on the wall which was on the other side of my head. When decorating the room, maybe not put the bed against the elevator hall or don’t put a bench inviting idiots to sit there. When we booked our room I listed I had an 11 year old with me, my Granddaughter. They even asked for her name. It would have been nice if they told me the poor child couldn’t eat on their property! All the restaurants are located in the casino and children are not allowed to enter. The lady at the front desk makes it seem like no big deal, just go down the Riverwalk to your left and you will have places to eat. A 15 minute walk later!!! This is the same woman that told us the breakfast buffet was 6:30-8:30am. Which I thought was crazy! Especially for a place with a casino. The hours are actually until 10:30am!

The Omni William Penn relies heavily on its historic charm and beautiful lobby, but the guest experience falls far short of what I’d expect from a luxury hotel. While the common areas are impressive, the rooms are outdated and in desperate need of renovation. I stayed here the night before my wedding, and it was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. My room was noisy, making it difficult to rest before such an important day. There wasn’t even complimentary bottled water in the room—a basic amenity offered by many hotels. The food was equally disappointing. The shrimp tasted microwaved and anything but fresh. After eating it, I experienced diarrhea for two days. While I can’t say for certain what caused it, the timing was concerning. The soft pretzel was soggy, barely cooked, and drenched in what tasted like artificial garlic spread. To make matters worse, the vending machine on my floor was broken. When I searched for another, parts of the hotel felt vacant and unsettling. As an executive assistant, I regularly book accommodations for executives, board members, and VIP guests visiting Pittsburgh, and I frequently exchange recommendations with a large network of administrative professionals. Based on this experience, I will not recommend the Omni William Penn and will instead direct my organization and peers to hotels that better deliver the quality and service expected of a luxury property.
