The hotel has great air conditioning! I was there during a heat wave & the room temperature could be adjusted unlike some other nearby hotels. The staff was polite and helpful. The tram is right outside the front door and only 3 stops to the train station. My only suggestion is to have a mini fridge. It would have been helpful for cold drinks and snacks during the heat wave.

Our stay at Beatenberg Resort was extremely disappointing and did not match the expectations created by the listing and photos. The property is much older and more worn than it appears online. The exterior looks weathered, rusty, and poorly maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt isolated and neglected. Even our children commented that it felt desolate. One of the biggest issues is the location. The resort is much farther from Interlaken than the listing suggests. If you are arriving with luggage after a long journey, getting there is very difficult unless you already understand the local bus system. Otherwise, you should expect to pay a very expensive taxi fare, which in our case was approximately €100. This is an important detail that prospective guests should know before booking. The rooms also lacked proper ventilation or air conditioning. The windows and doors were left open, which allowed flies and insects into both the building and our room, making the stay uncomfortable. Our arrival experience was equally frustrating. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk for approximately 20 minutes. We walked throughout the hotel calling out to see if anyone was there before finally finding assistance. After a full day of international travel, this was not the welcome we expected. We had the best room ever! Very spacious and the location is amazing, right on the ski hill. The spa is great and don't miss the very cozy bar with fireplace. The staff were excellent, very helpful getting us ski rentals and information. Loved this hotel, truly a wonderful place to stay!

Breakfast was amazing but overall the beds the bathroom everything was clean and comfortable. I would stay again if we ever go back to Zurich

I booked this hotel expecting basic amenities, especially a hot shower and a comfortable night’s sleep. Unfortunately, there was no hot water during my stay, making it impossible to shower. This completely defeated one of the main reasons I booked the hotel. I informed the front desk, but the issue was not resolved in a timely manner, and there was no compensation offered. A functioning hot water system is a basic expectation for any hotel, and not having it significantly impacted my stay.

My family and I stayed in the Junior Suite, expecting the quality and hospitality of a four-star, family-owned hotel. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had. The Junior Suite was dirty, neglected, poorly maintained, and dated—well below the standard we expect from a four-star property. I documented the condition with photos immediately upon arrival. We reported the issues and asked to be moved, but were told there were no other Junior Suites available. Housekeeping was unavailable, so I ended up cleaning parts of the room myself just to make it acceptable for my family to stay the night. With no feasible solution offered, we checked out the following morning and moved to another four-star hotel in Grindelwald. The difference in cleanliness, room quality, and service was immediate and significant. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Hotel Kirchbühl to anyone looking for a true four-star hotel experience.
