Great spacious room. Beautiful property, but a bit run down. We have stayed here a few times and would definitely go back. Staff are wonderful, delicious breakfast. Really nice restaurant attached to property.
The Inn is located at the bottom of Vermont’s tallest mountain, putting it smack dab in the middle of hiking, boating, tourism and beautiful places.
Stowe, over the hill. Ben & Jerry’s, a bit more down the road. Ice cream, walking distance. Skiing, Smuggs is ten minutes.
The Inn is creaky, classic and 100% Vermont. Breakfast is included and delicious.
We highly recommend the experience.
We have been staying here for many years. The breakfast is a nice touch. The owners are very nice. The attached restaurant was terrible this year. The property itself is rustic with character but could really benefit from some more regular maintenance and upkeep.
My son and I travelled for a week through New England hiking, and none of the hotels we stayed in showed as much hospitality as the owners of the Smuggler's Notch Inn. Pat welcomed us when we arrived, gave us info on where we could get dinner (the attached Village Tavern was great), and our bedroom with attached bathroom was charming and comfortable. The icing on the cake was a delicious cooked-to-order breakfast by Pat's husband before we set off to hike Mount Mansfield. I would book there again
A quaint old Inn with a very nice staff. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Amazing water pressure. Really good breakfast made to order on time every morning. Nice tavern downstairs with decent food and nice waitstaff.
Terrific find. Very clean and comfortable. Great location for those riding or hiking the notch. And particularly noticed that I could not hear another guest when in my room.
The breakfast was great. It was nice to stay with nice people. it would be nice to have rugs in the room, especially on the unfinished floor in the bathroom. The bed was great.
Such a delightful historic inn! I arrived late on a rainy night and was so happy to melt into bed with fluffy pillows and blankets. The antique furniture, different in every room, added to the historic feeling of the place. The made-to-order breakfast was delicious, and the inn keepers were very friendly and accommodating. It was worth the trip from Burlington, even for just one night. I'll definitely be back when visiting my son, a UVM student.
We only got to stay one night on our way to Smuggs. The place only has like 11 rooms. Room was small but clean and quaint but modern enough. The bed was very comfortable. The included cook to order breakfast was good. The room had everything you needed except a fridge. The ice machine was broken also. Location is 8 min from Smuggs, so very convenient. I would stay again, except it is a little pricey for what it is.
It was nice stay very thin wall could hear everyone turning on their showers and coughing and talking but very friendly staff amazing breakfast in the morning made right in the inn 😋
We were looking for somewhere to stay that was convenient for skiing at Smugglers Notch. It definitely fit the bill! 10 minutes from the room to the slopes.
Very quiet property. When we arrived the innkeeper greeted us and was very helpful, answering all our questions before we could even answer them. The tavern downstairs had delicious food.
It IS an older building, so it had some quirks (floor was slightly uneven, and the bathroom door was a little stiff), but those were pretty minor and to be expected. The bed was a little on the soft side, but still not bad.
The breakfast was generous and tasty (hash brown casserole was amazing!). Check in and out was very convenient, the parking area was a little on the smaller side but we were able to park without any difficulty.
The Smuggler’s Notch Inn was wonderful! I came here on a ski trip with my mother and we had a wonderful time. It was a 10 minute drive from smugglers notch ski resort, which made it very convenient. We had dinner at the Bilkage Tavern downstairs both nights and each time it was wonderful. Stuff was very friendly and the menu was great. Anything we needed, the front desk was willing and ready to help and provide. I would recommend this Place to anyone looking to stay in the area.
