"Perfect location!"
Very comfortable stay - but did have the luxury of a double room to myself. As someone visiting Santander for the first time I found it ideal for getting about in any direction. Very quiet at night too.

"Lovely hotel close to beach and casino"
Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Being located just outside the city, it made for a good walk along great sandy beaches to get back in. Alternatively, hire a car and explore the Cantabrigian coast line and hinterland. You will not be disappointed.

"In the Grand Old Style"
Though the carpet is a little worn on the staircase this is a wonderful hotel. If we're back in Santander we'll definitely consider staying here again. Our room had a sweeping view of the bay and a balcony to sit on and enjoy a coffee (though in April it's a little chilly in the morning). I could have enjoyed the view of the bay all day.

"Nice hotel very central location"
Stayed one night for business in Santander, chose this hotel based on location and rating. Located close to local restaurants, shops and ferry terminal. One hour from Bilbao airport. Very friendly and service minded staff, restaurant was a good experience. Breakfast buffet with the most common selections as expected from a upper class hotel. English capabilities for the hotel staff could be greatly improved, some more English TV channels not dubbed...the WIFI was very poor as it was very slow

"Reasonable hotel in industrial area"
Check-in was a little confusing. I arrived at the hotel I had booked, Bedoya and there was a sign referring me to the other side of the road to San Glorio. It became apparent that it wasn't that the two shared one reception (as sometimes happens) but thatbthey had decided to move everyone into the one hotel. I understood that each had the same standards and amenities so it didn't really matter. But for clarity though...this is a review for Gotel San Glorio! The receptionist was not particularly welcoming and at one point, seemed in doubt of my booking which was worrying. I think they possibly have an archaic paper-based system. The receptionist was not rude or unpleasant...just not enthusiastic! The room was very drab. The window looked out into a roof space with another window just metres away. There was very little natural light. The TV worked fine but there were no English-speaking channels at all (e.g. CNN which seems a favourite in continental hotels!). The decor, fittings and cleanliness were all fine and defied the rather dated feeling of the room. The hotel was very convenient for the ferry port and the train stations although it was also in a slightly run-down, more industrial end of town. However, there was nothing at all that made the area feel unsafe after dark. For the price, I had a reasonable stay. The hotel though wasn't exactly brimming with love, care and attention!

"Easy to find"
Location is great for a few nights if coming from the airport and taking bus into the centre of Santander....the Abba Hotel is very close to the bus station and you pass it on the bus just before the bus stop. Nearby (turn left from the hotel) there are a number of bars and cafes and a short walk further and to the left there are a lot more. Handy if you come in late in the evening as we did. There is also a supermarket more or less opposite the hotel. Hotel reception lady was really helpful and gave us a map and directions to nearby places. Room itself was fine and having tea and coffee making facilities was an added bonus (haven't come across this much in other hotels in Spain). Our room had a small balcony that you could stand on but not sit but sufficient for our purposes. We didn't have breakfast as there were a lot of bars to choose from that did basic breakfasts at a good price. There was some building work going on next door to the hotel when we arrived and not sure how long this will go on for. It stopped about 4.30pm and didn't really worry us too much as we were out most of the day. The traffic noise was acceptable but to be considered if you want a quiet beachside holiday which this is not really the area for, more city location.

"Santander is lovely city to stay in. "
Lovely 6 days. Beautiful beaches and walks. City of Santander very interesting and very Spanish, not much spoken English which was a bit of a problem. Tourist office only dealt with Santander and not surrounding coast or area which was a bit of a problem, until we worked out where we thought we wanted to go to and found the appropropriate bus timetable at the bus station. We had no car. We found visiting Bilbao for the Guggenheim ok, but you needed to book the bus a day or so ahead, as all the early buses (9.00 am.) were full and the next one with some spaces, not many, was at 11.00 a.m. a bit later than we wanted to go, but it worked out ok and was a great museum to visit.

"Dog Friendly. handy for ferry."
Although on an industrial estate there is plenty of ground and grass surrounding the hotel to exercise your dog. A Park right next door as well if you want more space and frequented by dog walkers. We found a VERY good vet about ten minutes drive away (near the beach) who dealt efficiently with the requirements required for taking your pet back to the UK.(00 34 639 031231 - Her name is Mercedes). Restaurant at hotel does not open until 20.30, limited menu but reasonable. Good breakfast included in room rate. Nice and clean, helpful staff. Safe underground parking if required

Santander is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Santander, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Santander hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
