Enjoyed our stay. Brought our dog. Reasonable fee. Indoor pool and hot tub were clean and the temp was nice. Close to Cambria etc. Great hiking trails by the ocean but the forest trail we went on in cambria has poison ivy and ticks,

The rooms are cozy and lovely, with lovely wooden adjustable screens to block light and sleep HARD. Microwave and fridge, nice bathroom. The cleaning staff is better than a lot of places, even compared some high end hotels. The balcony has large gaps kids can fall through, definitely not up to code. One railing is rotten and ready to give out if someone stumbles. If those two code violations were fixed, this would be one of the best little hidden gems. To the Silver Surf Manager, it's worth fixing those two safety concerns, aside from that you were a lovely place to stay and I absolutely will come back next time I'm in the area. If you would like to know what happened to make me realize the railing was an issue, feel free to reach out to me, it's not worth posting here but I do hope to see it fixed next time I'm there :) overall, I enjoyed staying at the Silver Surf.

Great location for Hearst Castle visit

We booked here because we were touring the Hearst Castle. The location was great! The hotel is older but looks in keeping with the hotel/motels nearby. Room was clean, bed comfortable and strong shower pressure. We did not use pool but we saw others that did. We drove a short distance to Moonstone Beach for the sunset views and nice glass of wine. Visited Elephant Seal viewing area and did see the seals. Overall, a very nice experience.

Tv worked half the time with only 5 channels . Dog barking in room next to us, landscape not trimmed or clean. Alarm going off in one room for long period of time. Toilet would not flush properly.

Property didn't have enough parking. Areas was not great. Room was remodeled, but no phone in the room. The TV turned on but not one channel worked. The shower head in the shower trickled out water.

Office closed when we arrived and the manager seems angry we woke him up. Dirty sheets were outside of our room and remained there from check in through our check out, The room itself was clean but there was no lock on the screen. Location was fine.
