The location of the property is great for accessing all the local attractions and feels safe. The reception staff were not very accomodating. The rooms were not ready at check in time and we had to wait for the cleaning to be finished even though the hotel was not at full capacity and the Expedia VIP access benefits were not implemented. The bathrooms are very small and you have to squeeze around the toilet pedestal and door to close the bathroom door for privacy. Beds very comfortable but road noise an issue if you are a light sleeper, probably needs secondary glazing to protect sleep from street and traffic noise.

Great option, close to so much!

Best part of the hotel was Breakfast. It is amazing! So many choices and very well organized especially when the hotel is full. Only con is there is no grab and go (for coffee either) because it works like a regular restaurant where your whole party needs to be present. You can go separately but won’t be seated together. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to pay an additional fee since we had 5 people in the room (even though there was enough space for everyone to sleep). Parking is steep at $65 a night but you don’t need a car because it is within walking distance to so many things and there are plenty public transport options. Note: Room 2214 needs to have the mattress replaced as of May 24, 2025 as it was broken down to the springs. I informed mgmt and were able to switch rooms. New room 3619 was right outside of bus station lot so it could be very loud. If you need a quieter room I would suggest an interior room. No view, but much more peaceful. Overall, it was clean, comfortable, the staff was pleasant and helpful and we would definitely stay there again.

Deeply Disappointed: Our Problem-Ridden Week

Paid a fortune for Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf, expecting quality. Slow check-in. Room issues immediately: slow sink, running toilet (needed full replacement, stunk!). Bathroom door didn't lock. AC was a nightmare. First, terrible squealing. Engineer 1 said "run manual," ignored noise! We had to crank it full cold; it then cycled on/off, freezing us, ruining sleep. Engineer 2 replaced it – then loud CLANKING! (Have videos of both noises). How was this tested? Finally moved rooms 5 DAYS into our stay! Huge headache. $40 resort fee for "free" repetitive daily breakfast. Tiny pool (10 chairs/500+ rooms), no hot tub. Long elevator waits. No microwave, slow fridge. Only pro: location. We paid WAY too much for this frustrating, problem-filled week. Not recommended.
