First impressions were not great. Check in is supposed to be at 4pm, we arrived at 10pm and was told our room is not ready. 6 hours and it still wasn't ready? Then I asked about parking, and was told that their parking lot is full and was directed to park elsewhere. Which is already frustrating because prior to booking, it said there was parking on-site. We then drove to the other parking lots only to find out that they were more expensive and was not allowed in and out privileges. I went back to the hotel while my partner kept driving around to look for parking, and was told by another receptionist that there was parking available. Sent us on a wild goose chase for nothing. We were already extremely tired, so we just wanted to get into our room to shower and sleep. BUT, when we walked peered into the shower, I found hair all over the shower floor. It wasn't even cleaned. It honestly felt like they didn't have our room prepared and just rushed to get a room for us without cleaning it beforehand.

Too basic. Stuffy.

Room was stuffy with no air flow. Only one window enclosed between another wall. Very very basic without comfort. Pool is not in the same building. No towel hooks for wet clothes. Very sketchy neighborhood with not much nearby for walking distance. Staff was friendly room was clean but it’s very basic. No microwave or refrigerator in room but lobby does have vending and microwave. Breakfast is pastries fruit and coffee. We will not be returning. Overall if money is an issue and you’re just laying your head without comfort in mind ok but otherwise I’d rethink it.

We had to pay an extra $200 deposit for the two nights we were there. They said we would get the deposit back minus the parking fee. That wound up being $85 that we got back. They assign parking and they double booked our spot and someone else's spot.

I didn’t realize the area was so bad until after I stayed here. If you go out at night. You have to go straight into the uber, hopefully not alone, and then go straight into where you are going and vise versa. There’s so many people smoking meth or something outside on the sidewalks. I realize that’s not the hotels “fault”, but it’s good to know when booking. The issue with the hotel I have is the price change from 35 dollars to park (according to Expedia’s page for The Hotel Garrett), to charging me 65 to park for having a truck (a small truck) which is doesn’t say that if you have a truck, then it should be twice as much to park in the same spots as everyone else can fit in too. I thought the pricing was great/was a good deal, but it doesn’t make sense anymore now that I’ve seen what they say you get, and then what you actually get which isn’t what was said or end up paying more. Besides that: The room was pretty clean. They have small, simple continental breakfast. They have nice staff. They have a security guard in the parking lot.
