I liked the palm trees. I did not like 9 buildings, we were 3 flooors up, took us 45 minutes to find our room. Hard to park. Phone did not work the whole time. Ac did not get cold, i asked for a fan. Coffee pot did not work and since phone did not work I had to go to front desk for a coffee pot that worked. Also got a room 121 for son that graduated marine corp. His coffee pot did not work either. Would I stay again. Absolutely not!

The Hacienda Hotel is in incredible location if you’re visiting San Diego. It’s reasonably close to everything and the old town neighborhood itself is well worth visiting and spending some time. I think the hotel was a terrific value. Kids had a great time in the pool facility were clean and well maintained. I was really happy there.

Let down.

The room that we booked had already been given out so we had to stay in a smaller room with five occupants for one night. The following day, the room they gave us the bedsheets were dirty. And both times the keys would not work for the rooms. Also, in one of the rooms there was baby spiders on our bed.

Room did not have any modern electrical ports to charge devices, only normal outlets (bring your outlet plug). The beds were uncomfortable and woke up with sore back and stiff neck. Never had a uncomfortable stay here before and always stayed on the tequila factory side of the property. This time we stayed in the 800 wing which seems to be very accessible by the public and was very noisy. Our door did not have a good working knob and we needed to kick the door to get it open when the key card activated. In the morning i went to get some complimentary coffee and it was all out, i went to the vending machine at night and almost everything was sold out. Great restaurants surrounding the property and a close 10 min drive to seaport village.

This hotel is in need of a renovation, everything is so old the bathroom sliding door was so hard to open I got stuck in there and the smell of the room was so horrible I had requested a new room. The second room was better than the first one but for the price I paid it was not worth it, the only good thing about this hotel Is the location. I would not recommend or stay here again until it gets renovated.

Unique stay in Old Town

Enjoyed this quick weekend stay at the Hacienda Hotel in Old Town. It truly is a unique hotel with very much an old Southern California style with multiple buildings and a plaza in-between them. Please note that there are many elevators and stairs to get from one building to the next. One plus is the free shuttle at the top of the hour between hotel and airport. Unfortunately, the driver was out when I arrived at the airport, so the shuttle didn't leave the hotel on time at the top of the hour and brought us to the hotel shortly before 9 pm, thus we had to wait for a full hour for the shuttle. The front desk manager who ended up driving the shuttle that evening ended up calling ahead to make sure the restaurant on site (The Old Town Tequila Factory) would stay open for us for dinner. Leaving the hotel to the airport on the shuttle was a much smoother experience. The hotel is also close to the Old Town Historic Park and within walking distance of the tram station.
