Parking lot: When pulingl into the gated parking lot, a homeless man standing in the street blocking the entrance. After I went into the check in area (not a lobby), the same man came in rambling incoherently. There were some questionable meetings in the parking lot too. The neighborhood was sketchy at best
The room: it was DISGUSTING!!! The floors were gritty & dirty. We wore socks at all times. There was a hair in the tub. The floors uneven & creaky. The sheets & covers had stains, dirt and glitter. The refrigerator had cigarette burns on top. There was also a microwave but we were too afraid to open either one. The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced & I have traveled a lot & stayed in a lot of different levels of accommodations.
Sleeping: that was challenging to say the least. At 10:00pm, there was a woman in the room next to ours who screamed like she had seen a dead body. It woke us out of a sound sleep. We listened to her crying hysterically until we called the police. Four police vehicles arrived…one had a camera crew. I felt like I was in an episode of Live PD & was going to turn into The First 48. I had to turn on my phone with white noise to drown out the noise of police sirens, the woman crying next door & the bed creaking every time either of us moved.
Check out: we left the room at 6:30am. I had to use a ring doorbell to have someone come to the window to return the room key card. I wasn’t about leave it there!
